Wish for Combat Technicality

One thing that bothers me is the fact that NPC shooters can shoot me through walls, mountains, steel walls, et cetera. Reading the threads on the general forums indicates that no one else seems to find this a problem.

Is this something that has been addressed in the past and the conclusion was not to bother with it?

well for one reason is that people would find a spawn, drop a house, step outside, shoot them with a dot, go back inside and wait for them to die...

I'm pretty sure that I read in the CU notes that this out-of-sightline shooting was being eliminated. Scroll through the very first release of those notes (before the release with the big diagram) and see what that says.

Since DoT weapons are being eliminated in the CU, I could see the sightline only shooting coming back.

And while we are naming gripes about NPC AI I would like to point out how unfair when NPCs can shoot while swimming. And do they ever intend to let us defend ourselves while we are on a vehicle if we are being shot at, or even attacked by things that have a posture down attack and can knock us off our vehicle?! Of course if the CU on TC is any indication and auto defend is gone, well I guess I have my answer

And Ive come across several instances where Ive been fighting a creature and Im almost out of health but Ive also gotten the creature to that point too, but somehow the creature can magically do enough to incapacitate after they have turned their back and started to try and run in away in fear and are something like 9 meters away. Like they have a mouth on their butt or something..blah!

Recently, my other-server TK alt had to defend herself and I was reminded about the strike range of unarmed PvE. She was able to deal a death blow at about 17 meters. I felt like the Incredibles Mom.

The creature that did that to you might be closely related to a stink bug. j/k.
