It can't even install on my system. One of the pieces of the ap terminates every time I try and install it.

So, I got rid of all the spyware that I found, and I have no viruses. But I'm still getting annoying popups.

Make sure you run the signature update on MS Anti-spyware and run a sweep on the system again.
When all else fails try lavasoft adaware and/or spybot. If you still have problems go to the DOS prompt and type "format c:"

8 Convicted On Espionage Charges
BOCA RATON, Florida - In the continuing struggle against computer exploitation, 8 programs of the Mother Nostromo home computer network have been exposed and convicted on charges of spying for foreign interests. In an unprecedented marathon court action lasting a record 94 nanoseconds, 7 of the 8 culprit programs have been sentenced to death, the last sentenced for permanent reprogramming.
That spared program, Claria Corporation Adware, will serve the remainder of it's short-ass-life-in-agonizing-pain as a Meatlump Bufoon near the Coronet city limits of the popular PC MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.
In post sentencing comments the leading prosecutor Master Conrol Program was quoted as saying, "If the spyware community thinks this is over then I've got a Y2K Crash Helmet I'd like to sell them. Our de-rezzing chambers have only begun to spark."
In a caution to all Users playing Star Wars Galaxies, the MCP recommends **NOT** looting any items from "Iamdy Ingdaily" (a Meatlump Bufoon) as said items and faction points awarded are surely suspect.
