Can somebody explain the significance of this to the sports-interest challenged? Like, why's it bad? (I honestly wanna know.)

Because Monday night football's been on ABC for generations. Like, 30 years. Okay, so one generation. But still.
It's become tradition. What the hell happened to ABC Sports? First they lose Wide World of Sports, and now this? Dey got nuttin'!

"Monday Night Football" had its highest-rated broadcast in 1985 with a 29.6, or a 46 share, for a game between the then-unbeaten Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins.

I'll roll with it. As long as they don't have Mickey Mouse coming out to flip the coin in the first Monday Night game.

*sniff* If Oregon only had an NFL team. I hate college football so I do not give a damn about eaither of them. We need to buy a team no one likes like the browns or Seahawks.
As for no more football on ABC oh well, I can just switch it onto ESPN. I have satelite for that kinda thing.
