So, I'm wandering out of the C-net Starport, and I spot a handfull of players in red robes and hats following a lil' black Bothan in a white robe. Ty'ana and I were finding someone to train her master fencer, and we bumped into these looneys.
They were spouting off praise for the bothan, and absolving sins.
I was a little intrigued. "ooo, new RPers? Some I've never met? This looks fun..."
Who's three steps behind me? Rebecca. A step behind her was Vreese. The four of us group up, and chase these six or seven guys for three blocks...asking them what's going on and what's so special about this Bothan.
The only reply we got was: "You should read the Gorath forums."
That blew our hopes up. "Not RP...what the hell is this, then?"
Another block, and they shout: "Sony Online Entertainment is the devil" We figured it to be a CU protest.
So, around shuttle B, I've convinced the Bothan he should throw candy out since it's a parade, and all. That was fun.
Rebecca has somehow gotten one of them to chat about what's goin' on, /via /tell, and we find out that they're protesting the new pope.
They wander through C-net's 'tina, and continue on their little weirdness. The Bothan is referred to as "The Cardinal" and nothing fun happens again...they just head to shuttle B and leave.
I believe they were all members of -ISO- or something. Imperial Special Ops, if the glimpse I nabbed of the Bothan, when I examined him, served my memory.
Oh, and BTW, this all happened around 2:30am - 3am EST.
I don't think I had a purpose in sharing this, other than just the sharing.
I got candy! Boogie boogie boogie!
Random Strangeness
Wow I always wondered what could be more lazzy than a protester. Well looks like I have my answer now. You ever wonder why there isn't more "conservative" protesters? Its usually cause they're working. No jab at any liberals, I know they have jobs as well but if you look at all the protest that happen in a year you find two things. One its usually liberals against some conservative and two they either dont have a job or they've cut work to be there. I call these guys you ran into lazzier than that because they didn't even go out of their house to do it. They logged onto a game the already play for fun to do it. The world still finds ways to surprise a person doesn't it.

You know it, bro. I was perplexed by their strategy. Most of them wouldn't talk to anyone, and only shouted onece or twice. How do they get their stance across if only 4 people heard them?...(I'm only counting the non-afk players).

if I were to post an opinion about these guys the thread would get locked straight away. But I figure if they wanted someone to hear their protest, and weren't allowed to do that sort of thing where they are, or aren't able to do it, then maybe they just want to be heard. Im stopping there cuz anything else I would say would go against policy even though its on topic...

I appreciate the restraint Whar but I also understand how something like this can bother you. Keep in mind these folks are plain and simple jackasses.
Lets break this down....
You spend $15 a month to play a game where you wander around and parody religion only to send the message that the developers of the game you are actually playing are "evil." Yes I'm sure the devs kick puppies and all that. So the devs are probably sipping their lattes and smoking cigars their friends told them were Cubians but are really from El Salvador and laughing their collective programming asses off at the group of people walking around protesting because at the end of the day they are still getting their money.
On top of all that they are spending their time in a GAME (I can't stress this word any more) walking around complaining. Complaining on a forum or in an e-mail is one thing but to play a game and not actually play the game is just foolishness.
Yep, my jackass meter is going wild and these mooks are going to wear out the batteries.
(Did I drink some X'an Juice this morning or what?!)
