CU Live Tomorrow?

Sorry I should have posted the link but I was so mad when I read it I wasn't thinking and forgot to get it. At any rate it appears Tiggs posted a thread today stating that the CU is basically going live when they take down there servers tonight at 11pm.
Why must SOE lie to us, they said May 5th and now out of no where before it's even ready they're going to push it out tomorrow? I'm sorry but this really pisses me off. Anyone have a different take from his post?

I'd say that the reason for this is the digital download for Rage of the Wookiees on the 5th. They need it to go to the live servers and force more people to test it because it seems like they really didn't get enough people onto the test centers long enough to completely test the system, so now they're gonna force people to. I don't mind them doing this, as long as they move quick to correct any problems and bugs that come up.

Well I can agree with this idea as long as the crash to desktop bugs are gone. TC still had major problems with this the last time I checked.

I'm not ready yet though, I still need the two weeks. I mean if they'd mentioned this last week or something that would have been one thing but to bring it up the day before they're pushing it out really bugs me.
That gives me no time for last minute preperations. At least if they'd given me a weeks notice to get things in order I'd have been able to better deal with it. But there are still so many problems I hate to see this happen tomorrow.

I can't even F'ing believe this. We all know the CU is no where ready for being put on the live servers and yet here it is. Why the F are they doing this to us now? Ggrrrrrr...I'm so upset at SOE and the devs. This is not the way you run a business!! :x :x :x :x :x

I'm okay with it really...because I'm mostly curious to see all the kinks worked out, and I think it's pretty clear that most people haven't given the CU a chance yet. I bet a big part of it is what Zan said--forcing people to test it since they haven't had enough response. With the player based pissed off and submitting bug reports, they'll at least get feedback they can work with. Plus, I bet there's a fatalistic sort of attitude about this--if so many people don't wanna give it a chance, they wanna see the quit numbers.

Woohoo! Bring it on!
The more time I get to fool around in the actual game with Rebecca, the better. Especially since I cant even get onto the TC.
Guess I need to grind out my last skill points...
Trading point for point = yay.

Well...I can at least say that I'm glad that I wasn't making time to grind out any Ground XP on the side. Luckily, I've got all my skillpoints allocated already and set to respecialize. Hoping that works out alright.
I did expect to master Pilot before CU though.
Oh well, let the games begin...

The point is many people may not be testing because they only gave us about 2 months to prepare for this. And so some of us have had to spend that time preparing. AS especially are taking a hit because of the change in what stats are important in their crafting of armor. It is no longer OQ but two of the other stats. This is a huge hit to AS everywhere and 2 months or less is not sufficient to try to restock all of their resources.
And so if they had wanted more testing they should have followed a normal process for such an extensive upgrade by giving testing longer in Beta instead of trying to push it into live to force people to test it.
On top of that professions such as Jedi have only been able to test for maybe 2 weeks, and they have a huge list of issues that have yet to be resolved or even addressed yet. And believe me there are plenty of them willing to test but SOE refuses to allow them access. They were only given 5 testers and then those on the server converted were allowed to test the respec process but were really unable to test the profession.
They just shouldn't punish the player base for their mistake in not giving themselves enough beta test time. And they also later made the announcement of downloading RotW on the 5th, if that's a contributing factor that's again a mistake on the part of SOE if that was too much for them they should have just made everyone wait for the release on the 19th.
All and all this is the most upset I've ever been with SOE, I typically try to stand by them but giving the player base 1 day warning that they're pushing something like this live is just bad business.

To quote a guy sitting in my gamming class right now, "Uncool, Zeus!"
Given, I don't support the CU 'at all' after what I saw. Combat went from looking cool with 'red streamers' to looking 'boring' with no 'streamers' or differential action that I could see. ((Hopefully this has been fixed since I last saw it))
In any case, I agree with Hashum; This kind of update they need to give 'plenty' of prior warning about. At least on 'when' it's going live. Day before is 'very bad' business.
I'm staying with the game, CU is most likely going to 'force' me into solely RPing simply becuase I don't like the 'extreme' changes myself. However, pushing likes and dislikes of the game aside... they really need to work on better communication if their going to pull stuff like this.
Just my two cents.

Yeah! They could not get it tested enough because people KEPT CRASHING TO DESKTOP, and now they are making live even though these issue and all other bugs people posted had not been resolved!?!?
All my nice comp armor will be useless to me now unless I completly change Weyune around
