Command to Respec

According to SOE you'll be able to respec your character once every 12 hours for the 2 weeks after CU. I think this is actually pretty decent. I am stickying this because I will want an easy place to look this up and other folks probably will to. The respec command is:

/ui action skillsRespec

I'm still a bit lost about what re-specing will do... :???:

Doesn't it allow you to choose your template?

No it means to alter your template so it works better to how the revamp fits.

What actually counts as a "standard skill"?

I believe anything above novice on the standard skill tree. Novice is just the very first box.

What he said. All the skills in the "Novice" professions (Marksman, brawler, yada yad yada) count as Standard pts. Novice elite skills (novice pistoleer, commando, etc) count as elite pts.

Also, I think my Re-spec idea will work...if you have a lot of xp banked for an elite profession and you intend to sacrifice some of those skills, respec the skills you can immediately relearn.

Specifically, if you are maxed on your weap xp (which is like 900k for everyone isn't it?), you should relearn the first tier trees in your prof and then respec em. It gives you more points to blow than if you relearend the tier 4 skills. It takes at least 24-36 hours to complete it, but it could very well take you that long to get the xp to learn just one elite skill :)

krussh's idea does work

Ive done it twice already, and I screwed myself too

make sure to check skills before dropping them

I had 900k pistol and 900k heavy weapons from LLC

so I dropped tier 4 bh pistol and tier 4 LLC, so I could get 2 elite boxes, then retrain

what happened was they changed LLC to RIFLE xp, which I have none, so I have to regrind a tier 4 elite skill for 450k xp again

So this respec thing is standing longer than just 2 weeks it seems. Any intel on how they might keep it running?

I think I recall seeing them say that you have a 2 week timmer from the first time you log on after the CU to respec your character. Its been a while since I saw it though and I could be wrong.

Is there any way of getting rid of the respec invitation besides using it? It is very annoying.

It's still gonna show up every time you load, until SOE decides to give us a "don't remind me for a week" or "don't remind me ever again" option. I think they want us to use it so it doesn't have to hang over their heads, forever.

It not only shows up when I load, it shows up every time I change zones...and it shows up twice at Nyms, every time. :x

You load every time you get off a shuttle, and SWG doesn't have zones. If you spend less time in an area than it takes SWG to pop a respec request, you'll get two in the next place you load.

Doesn't matter, now. You don't have to worry about it anymore, KS. :)
