it's not a standard swap of fighting skills

all skills are weighted as either novice, standard, elite, or jedi

so I take out 8 boxes of marksman I dont need, you get the regular skills points, but they are only a novice value, so I can't plug them into any BH skills cuz those are Elite skills

so you basically can swap only novice for novice, standard for standard, etc etc

soe implied you could switch anything

Can you explain to me why this is BS? What sense does it make to let someone master a NOVICE skill and then use those skill boxes to master an ELITE skill without working for it and using 1/4 of the XP?

From everything I ever read from SOE, it was pretty clear how the skills were to be weighted.

Take a deep breath and relax...get on MSN and I'll tell ya how to respec like a madman...and pretty close to the way you want to.

a novice rated skill (not all novice skills are novice rated, some are standard) can go to a novice skill

standard rated skills can be converted 2:1 for elite

elite only for elite

tc you could swap any elite for any elite (ok thats fair) but you can't do that now

Dude, not giving us the re-spec ability would have been dag nasty evil. ESPECIALLY since they dropped the reqs on us earlier than they said they would.

If they had warned us "Look bitches, y'all better start grinding to get ready for the change cuz we ain't helpin' ya's," that would be one thing I suppose I could live with. It would have been mean, but tolerable I suppose. Luckily they let us respec, but...they pulled this out, what....2 weeks before they announced they would?

So what you're saying then is the fact that I had to spend 2 months (at that time with no buffs it took me that long) to master marksman to be a BH. Now I don't need rifles, carbines, etc and I can't use that XP that I grinded and you think it's fair?

I'm not saying I should be able to convert medic skills to combat skills here but I grinding I don't know 100-150k of weapons XP for each branch and now it's completely worthless. I'm sorry but that isn't fair. SOE changed the requirements to professions and then pushed it out on us before it's ready, and they want to take away work that I've done?

Getting that XP back now will take much longer too. So not only are they taking away that XP from me but their slapping me in the face at the same time. Now I've always hated Carbines, I hated Marksman Carbines, believe me I'd rather have not needed to do that, so now they say I don't need it and I ended up grinding it for nothing because I can't apply it against anything. All I can do is free up some skill points and have to regrind XP in a now much harder system. That's not fair.

We should get something for those skills, if not at least the XP to convert to other weapons XP which can be applied to elite professions. XP is XP after all. I'm not asking for a 1:1 SP conversion but heck they could have at least given us 1:1 XP conversion or something so we could make use of everything we grinded. Hey I'm sorry I didn't mean to come off as going off on you. I mean I do believe if you think it's fair that we lose all those skill boxes and experience that you're crazy but obviously the fault is not yours. I just find it irritating, however according to Skor's later post there may in fact be some use for them which is fair.

I also agree with you, in that this system will probably be better, my issues the last week or so have nothing to do with the system itself, I have no problem with that at all, and prior to the crap they've pulled with the early release and then possibly losing credit for skills and grinding that I've already done I had tried to be a support of the system in the past month or so. Again the problem is simply the way SOE handles issues. Had they notified us in a timely manner about such changes many of the rants and raves we see would not exist.

I just tried to respeced and fucked up cause im stupid and instead of clicking yes to respec I closed the box and hit yes and it kept my skills the same for 12hours

But you can say drop master marksman and carbs,rifles,and pistols and use them to get some bh boxes but you wont get many...maybe 2.How do I know..cause I droped carbs,and pistols and was able to get bh carbs 4
