how RESPEC is NOW (different from TC)

here's how it works...

novice can only be used for novice

standard can be used for standard, or used 2-1 on elite

elite only for elite

the only skills that can be respec'd are fighting skills and medical ones

they break down as such:


the novice skills are nov brawler/marks etc

they are worth 1 nov pt

all the novice box skills are then weighted as such

tier 1 nov box = 2 standard pts
tier 2 = 3 std pts
tier 3 = 4 std pts
tier 4 = 5 std pts
master = 6 std pts

now onto elite profession:

nov elite = 7 elite pts
tier 1 elite = 8 elite pts
tier 2 = 9 elite pts
tier 3 = 10 elite pts
tier 4 = 11 elite pts
master elite = 12 elite pts

so to pick up a tier 4 elite, you need some either 11 elite pts, or 22 std pts, or some combo of both


the only time actual skill points matter is if you dont have enough to pick up the skill

Yes, I threw away half my skills this morning. I had a ton of standard skills to go around but I needed to move them in to elite skillsets to regain my viability. Alas, I will have to do some grinding to complete my new template.

on TC you could swap any elite for any elite, any std for any std

but now they are all weighted and that cannot be done

Ignoring the numbers, it sounds like it works on a 1 for 1 swap based on the level of the skills you are swapping.

Someone tell me if I am not getting this right...

If I am a master marksman/rifleman...I can drop every one of the rifleman skills and pick up master pistoleer correct? The numbers should balance out because they are both master elites, right?

Overall I was happy with the respec of Iri. I was able to go from having no combat skills to picking up Novice Carbineer, so it is kinda hard to be unhappy with that.

I do wish we had had access to some of the artisan skills for the respec, but oh well.

Yes, unless one or both of your elites had prereqs added that you did not already have.

Word on the street is that you will be allowed a respec every 12 hours for the next cpl weeks so if youre not 100% happy with where you are you should be able to fix it ....supposedly :P

Anybody who has a lot of xp banked for their master profs should be able to do this according to the way I think it works...

I am capped on pike and comba xp right now, so what I am going to do is respec the skills I can immediately relearn. As of right now, 900k pike xp translates into 2 tier 4 skills, so I will spec those, and then retrain in them. Then I will respec em again in 12 hours. All you FS folks who go batty trading in regular xp for FS xp might not be able to, depending on your xp stores at the time of the change over, but those of us who have been capped in their profs for a few months now can get a slight boost in the respec system.

I think....if this can't be done, please tell me.

hey I could have mbh in 24 hours, cuz I'm maxed in pistol and LLC...so I could move llc and bh pistol tier 4 over to carbines, then relearn them...then repeat again

Just to let you all know,

First: Kirt is an Idiot and should be shot on site, I fucked up and respeced my skills to what they were already

Second: If you drop enough standard skills you can use them to get a Elite skill, this is how kirt will get master bh/master rifle without grinding
