First off, if you covert your armor to a type you can wear, any skill attachments you have in the armor will stay in the armor, and the armor will get all it's open sockets back again. I converted a composite chest plate that had Pistol Accy +5, Pistol Speed +8, Ranged Defense +7, and Melee Defense +11 in it into a Ubese Jacket...now it has all those mods and 4 open sockets.

Secondly, the marks for bounty missions seem to be dropping new AA's. I got a +6 Carbine Defense and a +5 General Ranged Speed AA this afternoon doing level 44-56 bounty missions out of Coronet.

Thirdly, with my alts that have combat skills I can actually fight against higher level stuff than I used to and live to tell the tale, but you have to know what your specials do before you start fighting. I found myself getting my ass kicked and then realized that the reason I as getting killed is that I was trying to use a move that no longer existed (but the icon was still in my toolbar). Granted, I don't get any XP from these guys, which blows.

Fourthly, scout skills are your friend right now...until they take away the ability to respec every 12 hours. If you want more boxes in an elite skill, go trap, kill, and skin stuff and get boxes in scout...then trade them in for elite skill boxes.

Scout's one of the six starting professions, Lok'i. Even at Master it's not one of the Elites.

Keer...click on your armor and you'll get a radial menu to convert it.

Loki, for every 2 standard point you can get 1 elite point...so for a level 1 elite skill, you need to use 16 standard points. If you have one full branch of scout, you'd get 2pts for level 1, 3 pts for level 2, 4 pts for level 3, and 5 points for level 4, for a total of 14 standard points that you can use toward Elite points. it takes 16 standard points for a level 1 elite, 18 standard points for a level 2, 20 for a level 3, and 22 for a level 4.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it appears they upped the scout XP when you harvest. We were getting about 250xp per gurk we skinned last night. If you have a buddy to hunt with, you can get the three branches of scout that use scout XP in about 4 hours.
