I found some very interesting Dev posts about RotW...
Kashyyyk is very quest-centric with zones and instanced areas.
Instanced areas? Rockin'!!!
There has been a lot of new quest types added. For instance, in the Etyyy quests, you can make bets and race against the Rodian hunters to kill the chosen creatures. Other zones have different kinds of quests that are fairly customized too. There are arenas and even a quest that combines space and ground that we will be hinting at in the Kashyyyk Space feature.
I'm gettting the shakes...this sounds so great!! It sounds like that 20 pages of suggestions I e-mailed to Pex a while back actually got read.

Combined Space and Ground quests will be warmly welcomed from me.
And instances? Nothing encourages group action like knowing that your group and *only* your group gets to throw down on some content!
Serve it!

I have to say that since I've been playing this game, I've gained more respect for Rodians in an RP sense. I think that when Solo "crispa" Greedo in Ep 4 they kinda got a bad stigma.
But from reading more about their brutal background and war dramas, I'm starting to see them more as the Klingons of the Star Wars universe.
(And that's the Original Series Klingons, brutal and sly. Not the Next Generation "honorable barbarian" Klingons. Anyway, that's for forums elsewhere...

)
But yeah...congratualtions to all you Rodian rudeboys for the extra content background!

I like the racial background Rodians have gained, but I still see it describing the ones that stay on Rodia.
The description of reasons for why individuals might leave the homeworld lends to more of them being underhanded or violent. Rodians that have been exiled or were too wild to handle staying at home. Greedo makes a good example for this...a 2nd generation exile, if not 3rd.

I agree. I really enjoy the alien cultures in SWG. I'd like to see more of that seep into people's RP if it is applicable to their RP. I think it would add a lot of flavor.
At the same time, it is hard not to "act human".
Like Iago said, some of descriptions are specific to aliens on their homeworld. I like to view the descriptions as a suggested starting point.. This is where you started, here is where you are now.. how did you get from there to here? That can be a way of defining your history and help you to really flesh out your character.

I think I have Whar covered well, as far as explaining his differences with others of his race. On one hand though, He has shown that he struggles with a lot of aggressiveness... it sometimes gets the better of him.
His tracking of Pale Tuk really made me feel that he was running on his Rodian instincts... there is an obvious feature he used while hunting that was often overlooked. No one really questioned him about this feature.
While Whar is pretty removed from violence nowadays, He still has his competitive nature. If I had time to work out the gladiator stuff it would be cool. one thing about that though: the CU may help give more structure and definition to the games. maybe I should rekindle that idea...
