Favorite yoda scene?

mine was at the temple, when he threw his saber into the clone trooper, and as he started to fall, jump on his chest, pulls out the saber, jumps off and keeps going before the trooper even hits the ground

When Palp is hitting him with the force lightening in the senate...

Yoda just blocks it then looks up as if, "F&#%*d up now you have!". then blasts it back at him and they both go flying.

When he's got the senate disks being thrown at him, there's this particular very split second pose he strikes where he lands and is looking up, his ears are all pricked up and he's got his saber drawn...I really like that pose for whatever reason.

As for a scene I like when he's counseling Anakin in the meditation room. Good ol' Yoda wisdom.

And when he walks into Palpatine's office and just like slams the royal guards into the wall.

I like the part on the wookiee planet when you see the Clones approach Yoda after getting the 'Order 66'...they go to a close up shot of Yoda, then you see a flash and two heads drop behind him to either side.

Both the moments of badassness that Skor mentioned were great but my favorite moment was when he and the Emperor rise up on the speaking platform into the senate room with their fight on. That short moment just thrilled me for whatever reason. Maybe it was the scale or the metaphor of the senate crumbling that you know was going to follow but something inside me just yelled "Yeah now this fight gets better!"

yeah that was a great moment... and at first I thought, "Oh shit, there going up during a senate meeting, thus proving the jedi want to take over, etc..."

Y'know as corny as it sounds I really dug the part where Chewy holds his arm down and Yoda climbs on up to his shoulder after he decapitates the clone troopers. That, to me, just showed the friendship that was there between the two. It was just a nice little touch in my eyes. Yoda the baddass...gets a piggy back ride from his big ole furry friend.
And when he hops in the pod and tells the wooks he will miss them..then you realize he never again leaves Degobah in his lifetime, that's just sad man!

I like when Yoda says to Sidious "If so powerful you are, why then do you leave?" or something close to that.

What I wanna know is this... (1st off I thought Sidious was relativly young like 50-80 in this movie) if so, when yoda says "or should i say Darth Sidious" Sidious replies "you survived..." did the jedi think they killed sidious before? and if so why in ep1 did mace and council say the sith had been gone for a millenia? I thought I knew the timeline better... i feel confused

The part about how Yoda knows to call Palpatine "Darth Sidious" has me clueless right now too. I don't remember the Jedi ever finding out. Maybe it's in the Clone Wars cartoon. I'll have to re-watch those.

As for the "you survived" comment, I think that was from Palpatine thinking Yoda would be killed with Order 66. So he didn't expect to see him alive.

As far as I know, the Sith were thought to be extinct up until Darth Maul attacked Qui-Gon Jinn on Tattooine in Episode 1.

It was when Yoda was in council with Anakin for me. This was perhaps 'the' last time there was for him to stop what does end up happening. For me; that scene dictated that a teacher can not force a student to do anything. Yet, if the teaching is not followed; they feel as though they have failed. It was a very sad scene for me. And it coincides with the scene where Yoda tells Obi-wan, "If in the recordings you seek, only pain and suffering will you find there."

The failure of Anakin I think is what makes Yoda so weary of Luke in the original trilogy now. I can actually understand it. Even Yoda feels a little hopeless at that point after seeing just how like his father Luke was.

Darth Plageous or whatever was killed by Sidious. It seems like it is in the nature of the Sith to kill their masters. Just as Sidious didn't seem to care that Vader would want to userp his power. if you recall he says that Vader could become even more powerful than he.
It is possible that the Jedi knew about Sidious, and that he had just been hiding. I think the survival thing was about the order 66. Of course Palp knew that Yoda was on the council, and that he was alive prior to Order 66.
What interested me is that Sidious spoke of one who cheated death- "I knew of only one who has cheated death. But together we may try"
Was he talking about Plageous? I'm pretty sure he was, but I thought about Qui-Gon... I doubt he meant that.

anyone ever heard of this plagus before Palpatine was talking about him? i dont know the lineage after its was Darth Bane and his apprentice...that was like 900-1000 years ago too right? then it was a bunch of sith lords and apprentices until sidious showed up?

i gotta find a timeline again :-?
