I have a quick question on them. What programs are you all using to create them? I know that Novall did his with MS Paint, but I'm talking about some of the more "advanced" ones.
I'm using Paint Shop Pro 8 (Photoshop is on a machine with no working CPU fan, so it'll just randomly shutdown) and although it's pretty much just like Photoshop, I'm having some issues.
Cutting an image from a screenshot is taking forever, since I zoom in to 5000% So I can pick the pixels that get taken and the ones that don't. Not only that, but I have to cut out "arm holes" and what not.
Any suggestions on how to not make sig files a job?
Image Sig Files
A good -->FREE<-- Program for image editing is the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
You can get Gimp for windows here --> http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/
You have to install the GTK+ RunTime Libraries.
This program is awesome, if you can't afford or "get" photoshop.

I use only Photoshop, as I have it at work and at home. You didn't hear it from me, but you're better off just finding a copy (however) of Pshop and learning how to use it.

I have photoshop on the machine to my right. Since I can't find a Socket A Athlon fan without paying a grip for it, I'm running it without a fan and it won't stay on for any reliable amount of time.
I went through all of my normal channels, and I couldn't get Photoshop 8 (that's what's on the other machine. Being an IU student had it's privledges).
Ah well. On to searching for Photoshop, I guess.

Dude Tramel, is the Socket A fan just bad on it???
If so.. and it is a heatsink.. Go to your local RadioShack!!
You can pick up a 40mm Fan their for nest to nothing.. then just use the screws from the original fan to place it on the heatsink.. I'll send you a pic of mine if you like.. the same thing happened to my socket A athlon fan ;)

Well, i haven't got a sig and don't work on one but i would use Photoshop, just because i got it at work and at home too and are used to it.
But i'm no great artist and if i draw anything most of the fun would be to identify it, so i'll just use a screenshot as soon as i find time

That's great advice, but there's one problem with it. I mistakenly said Socket A. What I meant to say was SLOT A (yeah, work with that).Lok'i Vidaar wrote:Dude Tramel, is the Socket A fan just bad on it???

Oh man that is rough. I had to track one down once, it was an unbeliveable pain. But I did manage to find one a Comp Usa. Let me see if I have still have it, because I sure as hell know I ain't using that processor anymore. If so you can have it if you pay the shipping.

Sure, I'll do that. Get this though. I'll get it, then put the box in the garage because I'm too lazy to pull this comp out of where it is, take the MB out of the case, remove the Fan/CPU combo, replace the fan, then reverse from there back to start.

Hey, I have a question about sig files too...
I made one the other night, but I don't know what to do with it and have no way of putting it up. Is there a way I can put it up?
Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?
I'll be your best friend...
