Nightcrawler is out of X3
Being a massive fan of the blue elf, I'm a bit miffed. Any word on the new characters? Beast or Gambit going to be in it?

I know that Beast is going to be in it, and played by Kelsey Grammer.Being a massive fan of the blue elf, I'm a bit miffed. Any word on the new characters? Beast or Gambit going to be in it?

If that's true I think it's perfect, he has the right voice and personality for Beast.Kyanus wrote:I know that Beast is going to be in it, and played by Kelsey Grammer.Being a massive fan of the blue elf, I'm a bit miffed. Any word on the new characters? Beast or Gambit going to be in it?
As to Nightcrawler, while he made X2 much more fun I think they can still make a good movie without him. Especially if Rogue and Pheonix are big players.
I'd also love to see Gambit, he was one of my favorite X-Men.

Well, a quick search on IMDb.Com confirms that Kelsey Grammer is Beast, and that it looks like the new villian is the Juggernaut, and while it doesn't say anything about Gambit, there is Kitty Pride, presumably in a much larger role.

I too am disappointed with the lack of a spade tailed blue elf. He was an interesting character, I wish his character would have been explored more in the second film.
As for Singer not being on the project, I can't say I am upset. Not to say that he did a poor job with the other movies, but I am eager to see someone else take a shot at it. X2 was good, but not as good as I was hoping for. Plus, if I have to sit through another set of special features with his commentary, I will shoot myself. The guy is a wanger...hard core.

*needs a nerd upgrade* bringing up insufficient data on this one... I haven't gotten around to renting X2 yet... I do remember Jugger from the cartoon, and my Gpa's comics. I used to get sick of stuff that had the same villain each time. In Xmen, I got tired of them bumping into magneto all the time.

Well first off I dont really care one way or the other if the blue elf is not in it. It seems to me they should just call it what it is and title it X3: Wolverine and the Mutants. I'm really tired of this Wolverine obsession. They seem like they dont want to do a story revolving around any one else and that the only major comic villian out there is Magneto. I just wish the X-Men movies where never made to begin with so that some one can come up and make a good one with out all the BS bagage of the last 2.

I said yes only because of attachment to the character. Nightcrawler is just out there cool.
That said, I'm also going to say it shouldn't hurt the movie at all because even in the comics we'd see dissappearances of some of the main characters for unusually long stints to develop the newer team members.
X-men, X-factor, Excalibur, The Fantastic Four, The Avengers... all seemed to rotate their rosters every now and then. This feel 'should' be captured in these movies. It makes you look back and say things like, "Yeah, but if Nightcrawler were there... they'd so have kicked Juggernaughts butt!!!"

I don't think it will be a bad movie without Kurt, but I really would have loved to have had Alan Cumming in the third movie as his Nightcrawler was awesome. The working script review I read said that there is a bit of a love triangle with Kitty Pryde (played by Maggie Grace from Lost), Rogue, and Bobby Drake. Also the Angel character is due some important time on screen as well but last I heard they have not cast him yet.
