I have been out of the game for over a month, so I am curious as to what I have been hearing over the forums. xXx, what is there deal? Are they anti-RP? Or just plain haters of certain people?
Just curious if we have worked out there modus yet...

Anti-RP Griefers. Their old guild (forgot the name) was the same way too.

Same case with 'everything', Jabe. A few bad apples always ruin it for the larger crowd. There may, or may not, be serious RPers among them. But the ones mentioned have been disruptive players on several occassions according to many different people. This probably is the 'elitists' power gamer guild. But... we must never rush to lable everyone because of the actions of a few... or even a majority of any guild. If we do; we mark those few good players that may be among them. Guilds... they do come and go... change hands.... become different entities of their own... judge a person individually and ignore the guild tag. Just let that tag serve as a 'warning' of the next person 'may' act as this one has.

I can't help but start out as hostile when I see the guild tag "xXx" over a player.
I got into a PVP battle and I wound up being griefed by a jedi. Just a little lemon juice in the cut. One of the most well known jedi was there and I made a comment to him about it. His first reply was of course it wasn't him and I explained to him that I knew, I just saw him as one of the leaders of the Jedi community.
My opinion was that I could get something more constructive done speaking to him then to the guilty party. I never mentioned who it was who griefed me but his one of his comments was along the lines of.
"It was a great battle, don't let players like xXx bother you."
You are labeled by the company you keep. The leaders of xXx either condones those bad apples actions, turns a blind eye or amongst thos bad apples.
If its a few bad apples in an otherwise good guild they should kick them out.
If your a decent player in a bad guild, then you leave.

XXX are old ADV members...so what can you expect really?

ADV, Delta, xXx... Most of them have been in all of the prior
guilds and I have had only BAD experiences with all of them.
Either 7 year old kiddies who try to compensate their low
selfesteem by pissing off others or ruin their gameplay because
of pure jealousy or because of pure arrogance or because of pure
lack of knowledge. Just name it.
There will always people like this. Like there will always be people
who say all goths are satanists or all rapper are killers.
As long as people dont want to try to understand they wont understand.
Knowledge is the key to wisdom - not ignorance.

I love all the fortune cookie wisdom lol
As has been stated, for the most part they are ex- ADv/Delta. They have stated numerous times from members as well as their leaders that their sole purpose in their SWG lives is to piss people off and they do a mighty fine job of it based on their reputation. They pride themselves on smacktalking and griefing, but I will say they are quite good as a team in PvP.
There are a few in the guild that claim they RP and I guess they do if you count them disrupting your events 'in character'.
"Before you judge someone, walk a mile in their shoes. You will be a mile farther away from them and you will have their shoes." - my contribution

I have to agree with Isleh and everyone else save one thing... even if there are good RPers in this guild of theirs. It is not necessarily easy to walk away from a friend. One person could be honest and knightly as they come... and still be in a guild of the dirtiest most rotten guilds on the server... and still share a bond of friendship they won't break with their friends. This is a touchy subject at any rate.
Kids will be kids though... and about the only thing we can do about it is try and not let it get to us or the lil <curses the thuggy children> %$#ards win.
Addignore the individuals... move on as soon as is possible... and fight it out another day. As for disrupting events... the only thing we can do is ban from private buildings really. Maybe to an extent that we 'don't' post some of our events on the SOE forums as well.
xXx; good or bad; is what it is... we can't really change that.
I just don't want it looking like I'm favoring them nor dumping on them. If its one thing you all have taught me... its to treat everyone as we would want to be treated and deal with troublemakers one on one. 8-)

I'll admit i can't stand xXx, but while i was in DSO/DI i did become friends with a few of them. But fact remains that they are trying their best to disrupt whatever and wherever they can. I'd recommend warning when seeing the tag but also know there are a few good peeps in the guild that are not as wild as the main members you do see regulary. Also IMO threads such as this only add fuel to the fire they are trying so hard to create, best thing all of us can do is report what they are doing to create a disturbence and report what we see them doing to a CSR and other then that just do your best to ignore them in general.

Yep. They want attention and I plan to give it to them. Just not the kind of attention they want.
Let them do their thing for 10 min.
/report of file a harassment
/addignore

Gotta admit I noticed those people the for the first time when I was there at the evening for well..the first time.
Never heard about them before, but I guess its nothing unnatural, for they are american players.
I have to admit I was kinda laughing when they started doing whatever they were doing.
Started telling with some of them and was surprised how many non-english speakers are actually on that time, for their english wasnt really...you get my point.
I kind of have problems with putting people on my ignore list, but I would just put them on ban, as it is done already, if I understood some things on the forum the right way.
*shrug*
Hope to have some "interesting conversations" with them in the future.
Or as a friend of mine put it (Nibo-Kamar, Dwilah might recognize the name):
"The bad actions of some, can only be redeemed by the good actions of many."
(Hope redeemed was the right word...whew...)

Yeah, I've seen them a few times in Theed (either just outside the starport or the cantina) just shouting something along the lines of, "xXx is the best guild because [insert name of random guild here] refuses to war with us! All fear xXx!"
If that's not a cry for attention, I don't know what is.

This is an example of the stereotyping we should be avoiding. I am an American player who works hard to be friendly, helpful, and respectful of others. We need to try to not make such sweeping generalizations about others.
Oh, and

Yes, that is the correct word

Out of all of this..
I am waiting for xXx to prove my opinion of them is wrong.
I would be very happy if one of them did.
I'm still waiting....
As to using the ignore list, I use it, I use it often. If I'm in a starport and I'm RPing a scene, then any spammers go on the list. I also purge it completly from time to time. So, If a person who is on it just gave me a bad impression the first time I met them, they get another chance when I delete the list. If a person keeps winding back on it, it's their own damn fault.

Oh, I think you misunderstood his comment, Rinna. He was saying that it is not unnatural that he had not heard of the guild because they are American players. Time zone differences and such. He wasn't saying that American players are all douche bags. I think.
