On TC..with pictures!
wow. That is pretty cool. The glowstick/poplock routine might be right at home outside the Theed starport.

Oooh!
Those do look pretty cool. As far as Dancer love goes, this is relatively huge. Now, if they gave me the ability to sync the base dance I would be in heaven.
Anyone know how to get the props? Are they actual items, or just magically there for you to use once you have the skill? I hope the latter. Inventory space is always limited. Don't want to carry around tons of swords and ribbons and crap.

LOL to this question:
just out of curiosity, if BF is no longer in-game, what's the entertainer's purpose?

I still think everyone's overlooking that part where they say that the trees will be adjusted to accomidate the changes to no BF Heal.
I'm going to guess lowered SP costs so that an Entertainer can pick up a fighting profession and make Ent a 'sub template'?

Last I heard, the publish after this was going to introduce profession-specific buffs and some general ones that would give benefits.Ekade wrote:![]()

They most likley mean the referances to the healing skill as well the addition of the schematics for the props.Sai'nu wrote:I still think everyone's overlooking that part where they say that the trees will be adjusted to accomidate the changes to no BF Heal.

I am very intrested to see if skill point cost was adjusted. The general consensus on the SOE Dancer Forums was; No, don't drop the skill points if the profession is going to made worthwhile to play and have an effect to the community and provide a source of income for the player. If that isn't going to happen, then make the profession free.

The original goal of the entertainer classes (Musician and Dancer) was to be a social class. Yes, they had a purpose within the functions of the game, but that was never meant to be the reason to go to a cantina.
Cantina's are supposed to be the lively hotspots of the Galaxy. We all know how this turned out. First came the afk hologrinders, followed by the buffbots. Now it's just about the inspiration/BF healing.
Once the "functions" of entertainers are gone, there will likely be far fewer of them, even less than now (after the mind buff was eliminated post CU). What I hope that means is that when I walk into the Theed or Coronet's cantina, I will be met by at the keyboard entertainers that have chosen the profession for it's initial vision: a social class. It's always refreshing to go into a cantina now and have a dancer emote to me. It usually leads to spontaneous roleplay situation which is always a good thing. Plus I tip better when I'm addressed personally
I can only hope that these changes will bring more of these situations

Anyone wondering the usefullness of dancers, beyond the aesthetic value of course. The new props are cool, but with no BF, what function other then the bonuses will they serve? Anyone discussed that yet?
Again, I am speaking purely functional, I love the dancers.

Well I look at it this way...
Remember all the buff lines in the starports?
Major, meaningful buffs that are designed to last a full play session were taken away from doctors. They are the healers of the game now.
Imagine if a doc had /covercharge and once you paid, you automatically start the buffing process.
The inspiration buff lasts 3 hours..
You see where I'm going?
I hope my guess is right. If so, that means the devs are trying to move the old buff lines from the starport into the cantina and leave the need for the lines behind.

Did anyone over look that the dancer was duel weilding...perhaps it is going to come out not to far after.

I like the way it looks, and I agree with Toront, it would be nice to go into a cantina where there weren't any afk bots, however i know what its like to sit in a cantina for days on end with no one comming in or out, mind numbingly boring.

I totally agree with everything you said on your post. When I first started in beta, the entertainers would group together and work on "routines" together. We would talk to everyone, roleplay...all that great stuff.toront wrote: I can only hope that these changes will bring more of these situations
When it went Gold...we still did that. Until the hologrind. That's when it turned into a bot profession.
Me? I like the new buffs (it was helpful to work up tailor with that extra 10%) but I don't play an Ent to do buffs nor to help people get rid of BF. It's not about the credits, it's about the love of RP and performing with and for people.
