ok I know some people have bashed the movie already, but here's a recently released fight clip of aliens vs predator...pretty cool cept the predator body looks more "football player-ish" than lean n mean from Predator 1, but this might be just this one guy and not all of em

Thats gotta be some kind of uber predator. I don't think he's the only one.

Here's what I know about the film. Some of this sounds cool, some could really be stupid.

- This takes place before all the Alien films. It seems the Predators a long time ago set up a breeding ground for Aliens miles under the earth's surface. The purpose of the breeding ground is a Training Ground for new Predators to prove themselves.

- Lance Hendrikson returns as a high ranking exec for "The Company" (the greedy bastiches responsible for Aliens) whom apparently was the man Bishop was modeled after (his android character from Aliens). The Company discovers this breeding ground and gets caught between the aliens and the Predator there to prove his mettle.

I read the script already (being a HUGE Alien fan)...and I must say, I'll go see it if we go in a group, but don't expect much from it. At least the Alien Resurection script started out strong and then turned to crap...this one, well, likes to copy other films...A LOT!! But again, you guys will have to be the judge (hopefully, for my sake, they had a GREAT editor on it).

Movie's going to suck, but I'm too much an AVP fan not to go see it.

From the clip, the way they ahve the walls breaking, its' like a fight wtih superman rather than a pred or bug.

And secondly, any AVP without marines for cannon fodder just isn't AVP.

This is one of the few "X Meets Y" scenarios that could be something. I've never read the AvP books or anything, but one question that I'd always wondered came from the first movie, Alien.

When the Nostromo crew first find the ship with the eggs in it, (the source of the beacon) there's a huge chair with a huge "being's" corpse in it. There's a hole in it's "chest" from where the Alien burst out.

Who were those huge hosts? They looked to be like 30-40 feet tall. And we know that the Aliens take the basic shape of the host except bigger(Humans in the first 2 films, dogs in the 3rd) so the Alien that came out of the corpse must have been a goliath. Maybe that one was the Queen that Ripley fought?

Anybody know? There's probably a website with all this stuff answered.

I think that was just a case of "look what we can do!" I think they established that the Aliens take the form of the host with the third movie, that in the second movie, they were just doing what they had done in the first.

Also keep in mind that Ripley was host to a Queen as well, so I think that giant in the first movie was just an excuse for them to show off more of Gieger's work?

I'm in full agreement with Nyase here. I think the movie will suck, but I'll have to see it anyway. I'm way too big of an AvP fan not to (the first comp game rocked, so did the old 4 player arcade game).

The queen is always larger. It does take certain aspects from it's host, but not many. Generally, all the queens are the same. The first avp comp game was great multiplayer, but lacking in story. second one was grate for single player, but the multiplayer wasn't as fun as the first(although it's still pretty high up there.)

The first AvP game had more of an Aliens feel to it. I would play as an alien, then destroy every light I saw. A ton of guys on my dorm floor had that game (and those that didn't just did the full install) and we would be playing it all night. My girlfriend at the time even played that game, and the only other computer game she ever played was SimCity.

AvP2 had too much of an arcade feel for me. If I wanted arcade style, there were other games to go to. AvP soured me on the "creepy" multiplayer.

Judging by those moves the predator is played by the Rock.

Anyway, the movie opened today but they did not allow the reviewers to see it early to get a review done by today. That can only mean one thing...It sucks hard and the makers new it.

I just got back from the movie. All I have to say is expect the worst, then MAYBE you won't be disappointed.

I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone, so I won't give my full opinion.
