:???:

A thread that asked for this community to be leaders, locked in just over 4 hours with some posts deleted.....

bravo

Maybe it was a mistake that I sent him to this site and asked him to think about joining MERCS

Actually, I would like to ask the admins to just delete the thread. I don't want to look at it.

I have to respectfully protest the way that situation was handled.

A healthy discussion locked for.. well, no explanation was given.

Isleh, read your PM's please.

Trying to clean up my own mess.

There's no problem in asking the community to help out new players to the game, and that didn't come into question at all, Isleh. I would say everyone here is more than willing to do that. What happened is that you touched on an issue that's much bigger and more in question than that very solid foundation of our community.

Either way, that thread was locked, and when that happens, that means the team would prefer comments on the matter to please stop. If you have other comments regarding how it was handled please send PMs to the mod who handles the forum (which would be Krusshyk).

Well I am sorry your thread got locked in under four hours and now you feel the need to drop some criticism in the direction of this forum. Unfortunately, it is my opinion that the post was flame bait from the beginning.

So now I ask everyone in this thread who is upset about the lock, how would you handle it differently? What do you want us to do? Should we start a new moderated discussion about Jedi vs BH?

People also need to realize, that although this is a public forum, it is run by us and under our discretion. If we feel a discussion is getting out of hand and turning into a flame war, it will be locked accordingly. And although I see people's frustration, it was necessary to be locked. Please don't ask why it was locked, because they don't get locked until it is absolutely necessary.

If a new discussion wants to be started on this subject, please feel free. We are all for great discussions, because that's what these forums are for.

Ok...despite a little bit of confusion, this is how this situation is going to play out.

The old thread will remain locked...it went south rather quickly and I don't care to see it escalate again. So....we all get to do it over. The SWGtales team encourages open discussion on most topics, but please understand that we will use our discretion to move, modify, lock or otherwise end a debate. We will not however, prevent you from starting a new discussion, bearing in mind that the same discretion will be applied to that one.

Please...by all means, debate this issue. But keep it in the realm of good judgment...that's all. And if anyone has an issue with the how's and why's of a specific thread's moderation, please ask privately. In this case, that would be me. The moderators for all forums are listed in several places, so please keep that in mind when directing questions to the team. It helps best to talk to the people most directly associated with the specific forums. Thanks all...game on.

SWGtales moderator,
Krusshyk

PS...I just read all of the posts in this thread (i replied before doing so, because I wanted this settled in a hurry)...

If anyone has a problem with the site's moderation, take it to PM's please. Public grievances will do nothing, save irritate me. The team designed a system especially for communication of this nature. To date, I have recieved 3 PM's about specific modifications.

No. I accidently touched a nerve. Something that's been building up and exploded. I was disappointed at first because I did not see it. This is what tests a community though.

A good community will resolve this issue and stay together.
