So three days ago I was watching tv and there is a commerical for like Now or whatever it is 19 and the first song they advertise has a Anime music video and has a quick snippet behind it. I right the name down real quick and then head to the store to get some supplys for the week. I head down to the electrionics department real fast and check out the alblum that the song came from. I listen to a few quick samples of the albmlum and like them.
So I buy it which is un heard of of me buying modern music unless I am sure it is good.
The band is Gorillaz and the alblum is demon days. Despite the rap that they have in a few songs I really like it. It is very strange but for someone who never listens to things nowadays I really enjoyed it and recomend it. I can not tell you what it is considered under so do not ask. It may not make sense but I like it.
Music I find myself listening to...
Yeah I have loved them since first hearing Clint Eastwood, they are a creation of Damon Albarn formerly of Blur and the Brit artist Jamie Hewlett who was one of the co-creators of the comic book Tank Girl.Jaminos wrote:So three days ago I was watching tv and there is a commerical for like Now or whatever it is 19 and the first song they advertise has a Anime music video and has a quick snippet behind it. I love the videos and this they definately had an inspired idea to create such a fleshed out virtual band.

Demon Days is in fact the 5th release by the Gorillaz.
In 2001 the Debut self-titled "Gorillaz" came out, including the known Song Clint Eastwood.
2002 brought as the first B-Sides Album, including some Dub-Sides, called "G-Sides". The same year the Dub-Sides Album "Laika Come Home" was issued which has some, call it already remix, songs on there that go further away from the 'basic' Gorlliaz style.
2004 brought us some kind of Best of out of all three above called "Greatest Hits".
And finally in 2005 "Demon Days" including the Single Feel Good Inc. was released. I have been a fan of them from the start and can really recommend all Albums, especially "Laika Come Home" has some very great new arrangements of songs on it, who are so chilling, you could actually sooth a baby with it ;)

Well I listened to the other alblums and did not care for them as much as Deomon days. It is the tune and how it is being done that I like. The words however are kinda hard to understand at times but I love it all. (except the rap)

So What, and other old Ministry songs always pop up on my radio show on Friday evenings. I know there is usually an RP event going on put on by those who frequent this site on Friday evenings, but I wanted to let everyone know that on Friday evenings at 10 pm EST in the Ruby Lake Cantina in Ruby Lake, Naboo we have an RP get together. I also spin tunes all night. If you are interested in finding out more about the radio station you can find out more at http://www.radio.cvcholo.net

I will definately check the show out once I get back stateside. As it stands if I want commercial internet access here I would get about 64k access if I was lucky. Definately not worth the $50 a month.

I am having a small teenage revival, now that I turned 19 on Monday.
So right now I am listening to, dont kill me, Simple Plan.
They just rock and I feel like they understand me with their lyrics
Well, there is one song I just decided to take as my motto from now on, as I am going towards 20 (I AM OLD! PLEASE HELP ME OVER THE STREET!..love these stupid T-shirts^^).
Simple Plan - Grow Up
Thanks for understanding me Simple Plan, no one else does.

I am going thru some inherited music to determine what to get rid of and came across this wonderfully funny song...about giraffes being insincere and zebras being reactionary. It's a Simon and Garfunkle song.

Mostly grunge and alternative here. NIN 'Closer' is classic and most of Nirvana.

I listen to the radio and I flip channels constantly.. so I tend to get a general feel for what they play a lot of as far as Chicago FM radio is concerned..
Lately they play a ton of 80's Prince.
I also get a healthy dose of Sting, Madonna, and Journey..
Is it wrong to dig an overplayed 50-cent song on occasion? The music is really good and makes me think of Dancing in SWG.
