World of Warcraft Is A Feeling

You look good in high-res
You've got uber chat skills
Won't you grind quests with me - endlessly
Tanking mobs is my role
I maintain aggro
But the rogue doesn't know, he's not MT (main tank) tonight

World of Warcraft is a feeling
Who needs a social life
I can't wait to log in,
Hop on a griffin

Stockades, gnomer, SM
Won't you join me, on an instance farming run
Let me hit the vendor, free up some bag space
Once I repair, I'll be good to go

World of Warcraft is a feeling
Who needs a social life
Stratholme, Scholo, and UBRS
He just dropped my valor helm
How could I roll a 6?
Grats to my guildmate, but I can't believe this shit

This is the best game
This is the best game I've ever played
This is the greatest game
World of Warcraft you're the greatest game
World of Warcraft you're the greatest game
The best game I've ever played
Woah
I can't wait to log on
Hop on griffin
World of Warcraft, a World of Warcraft
A reality.
OMG.. that is absolutely priceless. I almost woke up the house laughing at that.

Chappelle just recently plugged WoW during a stand-up show he was doing. For the life of me after playing for a great many hours running endless and meaningless quests - I wish I could understand what part of this game is appealing to the mainstream.

It's the PvP design... or perhaps the combat system period.

The instanced lead you by areas in lvl simply appeal to people. And the cartoon look too. You know immediately by playing a healer 'your' the person responsible for keeping others alive in a group. And... get this... it actually works that way in WoW.

Here in SWG... anyone can be their own medic if they really want to. Get enough high lvl ranged... and the melee person in the group just doesn't feel like they really need to be there. That's one way of putting it. A lack of consistant need of belonging in the group is very lopsided with the new lvl system here.

On WoW, it's very balanced. Only way I can explain it. And... I'm actually with you, Jabe. I don't really like WoW because it doesn't offer the RP tools nor immersion that SWG has. It's ok... if you basically can stand the monotanous grind to lvl 60 doing said meaningless quests for items you really don't need by the time you complete them.... just to do PvP essentially. However... at least there your rewarded for your participation in PvP... it's still a very sucky system in SWG... basically no point to it at all.

As opposed to missions where you spend hour after hour killing meaningful (and identical) "lairs" over and over in SWG?

I'd take "meaningless quests" any day of the week over "kill lair" over and over, ad infinitum. At least quests take you to different places and allow you to see different things. You are never in one place for days on end doing the same exact thing over and over.

Imagine SWG with gorgeous and realistic terrain, level appropriate challenges and equiptment for every combat level, a balanced combat system, and a pvp system that rewards you for participating in PvP. That is WoW.

If WoW was so unappealing, SWG's combat system would not be trying to emulate it. :D

That aside, all these games are the same. It is the people you play with that make the difference.
