Publish 20 bug...

Well yet again I download my patch start up my game and crash to desktop after it begins to load. I know I am not the only one because when I went under trouble shoot chat it was filled and everyone was complaining about the same problem. So Yet again the devs messed up a full days worth of swg.

Yeah this one is amazing - I click play, the launchpad disappears and SWG never loads. Like Orph@n said, there's a monster of a thread of pissed players in the tech forum. I'm one of them.

Its amazing this was never reported on TC... Oh wait maybe they tried to slide in some untested code? Naaah! SOE? Never!

Well due to the amount of bone heads on the boards I avoid checking them unless I am needing information about somthing.

I only hope we get a double xp week because they screwed up.

This is a copy of my Gorath forums post, explaining the problem...though sony likes to lie and pretend its an unknown problem..i dunno why...i mean...admitting it would be well within legal limits but maybe they figure, for some weird reason its abetter PR move for it to bea quick unexplained bug, thena new annoying feature....

Starting with the last pub, SOE started updating launchpad with a "lockout" until they have all the servers up and running 100%...see...they ran into a problem with people catching a lucky shot while a server was up for just a a second, logging in...and it would mess things up on their end and reset the "server load" process....remember seeing a server go from "offline" to "loading" back to "offline" all the time? this was one of the reasons why...so now they do this...once its ready a "fix" is pushed via launchpad

What I'm loving is... this is starting to happen 'every' publish now since... at least Pub 17 wasn't it? Some form of Client crash and/or just a total day gone because when they push it live from Test Center it just completely muffs up. Wouldn't you think they'd have 'this' fixed after this many times? :D

According to the boards this should be corrected now and people on Gorath have reported signing on.

This may need a little more testing, but I wanted to offer something up to the CHs who can't pull mobs with their pets anymore. Since they have scout, make use of your traps. I've been experimenting a little and you can pull creatures from up to 50m away with traps...plus traps actually have some useful abilities.
