Notes on the patch in regards to Dancer...

I did some experimenting and performing last night and...
WOW!
This is arguably the biggest Dancer-love patch we have seen.
Dancer XP:
- XP comes once per "tick". A "tick" is 10 seconds.
- There are 2 kinds of XP now, Dancer and Entertainment XP.
- If you do a fourish you will get entertainment xp for the next tick. You will also get "max" dancer xp (for that dance) for that tick. The next tick, if you do not flourish, you will get no entertainment xp, and what appears to be 80% Dancer xp from the first tick. Each subsequent tick is a further degradation of Dancer xp until it vanishes.
- Grouping does help your XP. I still have yet to determine if grouping with higher level entertainers provides bonuses like it did before.
- Higher-level dances give more XP
Sooo.. What does this mean?
If you want to get the most XP, flourish at least once every 10 seconds. Even better if you are in a group.
Dances:
Bundaki (sp?) is a very very nice addition to the dances we have. It "drifts", but not as bad as Formal and Lyrical. The speed of the dance is upbeat, so it will fit nicely with some of the fast songs, yet also it is very graceful and looks good with props (see below).
Props:
These are way cool.
We've discovered that some props don't look good with some dances. For example, in Popular 2, the dancer holds her arms very close to her body, thus you dont see much movement of the prop. Bundaki, on the other hand, has the dancer moving her arms in long, sweeping motions. The visual effect is stunning.
Dya and I were performing Bundaki w/props at the Ryll Den last night and it looked spectacular. I had the double-sided Mystical ribbons, and she had the double-sided sparklers. All I could say was "WOW". It was a stunning effect.
Flourishes:
All 8 flourishes now function for Exotics 1-4. However, they are all the same. Meaning, Flourish 4 is the exact same flourish regardless of what Exotic you are doing. Still, it is much better than before. The only new flourish is #7.
I did not explore the other dances to see if they changed any of their flourishes.
Lightshows:
Not much to say here.
These are nice.. the "Saturday Night Fever" dancefloor effect is cool for the modern dances. The new spotlight one looks spiffy as well.
They also gave us the ability to select someone else and put lights on them. The effect is not all that striking, in my opinion.
