That Green Lantern Movie Poster

You know the one, with Jack Black as the GL and it's supposed to be a comedy?

I made a movie poster for it, because quite frankly, the idea sickens me:

Nice! Funny stuff.

But the fact that WB is making a "Mask-like Superhero Spoof" of Green Lantern is not funny. They have DC Comics by the balls. Bascially they can say "We're going to take a beloved DC character and make a huge joke out of him" and when DC says "Well wait, we don't like that. Can't we do a real GL movie instead" all they get from Warner is "Shut up bitch and cash the freakin' check!"

Somewhere right now...in his "Command Center of Criticism", Harry Knowles of Ain't It Cool News is doing typing aerobics getting ready to trash this one. And I'd support him 100%.

Sure we haven't seen the movie, but even if it's funny as "The Tick", it won't be the same if Green Lantern isn't a kick ass type.

I hope that they shelve this idea.

I went to that "Ain't it cool, news" link and saw "What about Owen Wilson as Green Arrow?" I didn't read anything else. I just closed out the window.

You're right. It gets tacky sometimes, but he'll always have points with me regarding Batman because it was his site that made Warner turn back to what they're doing right now, going back to the essence. Even Joel Schumacher, the director of the last two films, said it was AICN that pulled his card.

They don't invite this guy to pre-screenings nowadays for nothing. Yes, basically it's fan feedback that does it, but Knowles and his site was the "lawyer" in this "class action suit".

Whatever concessions to core old school Batfans that we see in this next film are do in big part to Knowles' site.

Gotta give credit where it's due.
