Anyway, thanks guys!!

I know what you mean. I struggle with getting involved myself sometimes. I think some characters have an easier time than others.ArifoObi wrote:I was hoping to keep E-bo there a little longer. Its tough to get her involved because she doesn't have an outgoing personality.
About an hour into it she got a tell that there were some individuals coming to arrest her and had to slink on out right before the big fight scene...
Oh well. Arifo got to stop by and say hi to everyone.
Where did I do that? I'm sorry about that. Was it a leftover from the week before where I tried to move it?It didn't help that Zannon posted on the boards that it was going to be happening on SATURDAY NIGHT.
I like to get people involved that I see RPing on a regular basis by just throwing them into some of my story arcs (I've seen Coiyonite do this too).she doesn't have an outgoing personality.
Two games. Pffffft. I've worked on five so far this year and that number'll probably be closer to seven or eight by the time the year's over.Tensonic wrote:Sorry I missed it Zannon...They got me on two games right now and its killin' my free time.
There is, of course, the option to NOT involve yourself in any particular story, but to play a background role. Scragg would never get involved with other people's problems. He's much too self-centered for that. Scragg is there to enjoy himself and to hell with everyone else.Ekade wrote:I know what you mean. I struggle with getting involved myself sometimes. Based on what I have observed, there are 2 ways to get involved:
1) Drive the story. Think of how Tramel does it. He shows up and basically makes his presence known and felt immediately.
2) Constant interaction with a group. This is a slower approach, but the idea is that you try to do things with them until you get sort of absorbed into the mix.
Option #1 is faster but it required more effort, definately a more active approach.
I find myself falling into option #2 more often than not. It is good for observing and evaluating, but can take longer than you want it to.
I guess I could also cite a 3rd option that would be to contact some of the mebers of a group and collaborate on how to weave yourself into their story, then RP it out. Option #3 would fall somewhere between 1 and 2.
You bring up a very good point that I overlooked. Not all roleplayers are looking for "constant immersion". Some just want to RP at "events". My comments were directed at people who want to RP most of the time.ScraggNefarious wrote: There is, of course, the option to NOT involve yourself in any particular story, but to play a background role. Other than the surpirse droid invasion, I have to admit I was a little disappointed with last Sunday. Only one person wanted to kill Scragg, and he never had the balls to try anything. Scragg even puked on his droid to try to provoke him, but all he ever did was ask other people to kill him. LOL!
Anyway, Scragg will be back next Sunday, drinking heavy, flirting with the chicks, and looking for trouble. 'Cause that's just the kinda guy he is.
