Fuck Newegg.com, Fuck Fedex, fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

and add a few more fucks to that as well

here's the lil story:

I ordered a bunch of comp parts for my new rig from newegg.com, which has always been topnotch prices and speed of dellivery

my order was seperated into 2 shipments, the mobo from CA, the rest of the parts (cpu, psu, ram, etc) from NJ

I received the mobo a day early, on monday, the rest was supposed to be here today

I check the fedex tracking number and on the status it got picked up and then theres no other status beyond NJ. Call fedex:

"yes it appears it is lost, we'll have someone go look for it in NJ"

When will I know anything

"hopefully we will find something out and call you back tomorrow. call the shipper and let them know it is lost"

Isn't that your job?


so then I call newegg.com to tell them it's lost

"ok do you want us to send you the parts or credit your account?"

I need the parts, send them.

"ok, after our review process of 7-10 days we will send you out the shipment"

whoa, wait a sec, I have to wait 7 to 10 days for you to send it out again, and then wait 5 more days to get it?

"yes, or you can get a refund"

well refund the money then and I'll reorder the parts and they'll be sent out tomorrow, right?

"yes, let me set that up" <insert a few minutes of typing>
"ok, it's all been set. You should receive your refund in 7 to 10 days"

now hold on a minute. It takes 7 to 10 days to get my money back. How am i supposed to reorder the parts if I don't have the money refunded back to me?

"sir we're are in a review process of the lost order, and it takes 7 to 10 days."

so either way I have to wait 7 to 10 days, nice

send the parts then, since that will be the fastest method. I'm not giving you more money for parts I don't have.

"ok sir, now if fedex calls you and finds the shipment and sends it to you, call us to tell us the shipment has been found so we can cancel this second one"

riiiiiiiiight

and how will I know when you send the 2nd shipment

"we will contact you by email"

well until I get my parts I cannot check my email

"well when there is no response to the email the will call you"

why don't you just type in the notes to skip the email, since I can't access it, and just call me first

"ummm, ok sir.....is there anything else i can help you with today?"

nope, you've done so much already

so unless fedex finds my shipment, I'm out of a computer for 2 more weeks...and even if they do find it, it'll take 4 days to get here and by then I'll be gone through the 23rd for work anyway...

Yikes. It always sucks when Fedex loses shit. I'm usually on the other end of that call when somone buys something and Fedex screws up. It pisses me off everytime because it's not fair to the consumer and it's confusing as hell. Here's the reasons why they won't issue your refund back right away

1. Most resellers use distribution partners to ship their product. Reselller A will buy x quantity of product and have distribution partner store the product. If Fedex lost the package, the reseller has to confirm the product left the dock and if so they have to request a refund from the distributor. Once the Fedex investigation is over, Fedex credits the distributor for the price of the items(usually there's a dollar ammount involved). The reseller in turn credits your credit card(hopefully you didn't use a debit card).

2. The sheer ammount of fraud out there. Here's the thing, technically you own the product once it's signed for with most companies. Some companies retain the right within x amount of business days to reclaim their merchandise. They don't want to take a hit and send out another one without charging you because if the credit doesn't happen. They're out a that money.

It totally sucks but that's how almost all major resellers do their business. Except for the ones that are mom and pop shops. I've shipped stuff both Fedex and UPS and I'm not really impressed with either. DHL isn't too bad, although a bit more pricer.

yeah well I worked airfreight too, on the floor as a grunt and an asst mngr

and I know if I was an underpaid box thrower, and saw a box with newegg on it, it would be thrown over the fence and be picked up later


boxes just don't go missing without a reason

You are probably right about that Skor...

When I worked in a warehouse temps would steal anything. They would steal your freakin lunch.

Illbleed is correct from what I understand. I worked at a "third party" warehouse. basically that means a company with a huge Union paid us to store product for less than they paid their own people. Im sure one of the things that my employers didn't like was the fact that I turned in every damaged unit, and usually our idiot people did it.

If you need some extra parts just to get Email up, I can find some junkers here... well, im guessing it wouldn't fit your mobo.

(has rifle and watchtower on standby for himself.)

I've never had anything lost from Newegg, and I order from them every week for work and for myself. It definately sucks that you have to wait 7-10 days...and I would throw a damn fit over that myself. However I can understand their position as they dont know whats up with it till they can totally confirm its lost. To many bad episodes with customers bring about procedures like this.

I love to order online... but this is typically why I just go to the store to get it... same day satisfaction can't be beat! Well, except then there are the added hours of getting the crap to run properly after... still don't have my CD Roms going. Blah! But do love my new case! 550watt power supply... Mmmmm...
