Though, if you break it down a majority of criminal sex offenders are 18+ year old kids screwing their 15-16 year old girlfriends. Still an offense but not as scary as a child molester.

One guy looked like my high school gym teacher. I guess the cheerleaders better start practicing in the OTHER gym.

one dude I wouldn't go near a lighted alley, much less a dark one...he was registered for 5 counts of rape and assault

Well I meant of the ones closest to me but on average I figured the shmucks who can't wait till their girl is of legal age to get some. Hormones should come with a warning label.

Fact is, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE.

The police department where I live has an accesible database for our area with pictures as well.

One of the guys that used to work where I do ended up on one of those lists. Never expected that. He was weird, but he didn't seem THAT weird.

well fortunately during my search I didn't see anyone I knew.

I for myself find it very disturbing that someone has no right to privacy of his personal informations after he commited a crime. Even if he was found guilty and he is guilty, does this mean his right for privacy expires?

Just to echo X'an here...not everyone who commits a crime has to be registered. Most of them only have to register themselves for 10 years after their conviction and only for a small number of crimes.

Do you know the story of why Megan's law was passed? A seven year old was raped and murdered by a previously convicted child molester who moved in across the street from her house. You say you don't want to know where these people live, but is that really true? When your children are playing in your front yard, you don't want to know that there is a potential predator 100 yards away from them?

Creepy as it may be, I would like to know if I should tell my children, "If asks you to come talk to him, you come tell me right away."
