I have a question about this event...is it rebel only?

The last time I was there, AoW were RPing Imperials as they should be, and they were harassed, and I believe they were eventually banned from the cantina. I myself was on the way to being banned, however I was enjoying the company of some of the people there, so I backed down and did things my character would not do so that I could stay.

So, in all seriousness, do you want this event to be rebel only?

Same, i heard this as well...

see....AoW wants to get into RP and this nearly made them say 'forget it'

so if you don't want people being imp you should say so

I was wearing imperial garb and acting like an imperial as well and i had no problem. I just tone it down in towns i have no jurisdiction in such as noct and new (however you spell it) and i dont have problems

there's a difference between not having jusidiction and not rping as imp...

if peopel are being all "down with the empire" its gonna be hard for someone like nyvveck to just "let it slide" without ruining his own rp.

So if being a vocal imperial is not allowed, fine...say so...

Again...if its 20 rebels and one imp and that's your justification...all 20 duel him...beat his ass, and do it that way, but don't ban them for just rping an imperial

I don't know why the problem was there, but I know that the AoWs were given a request of some kind, and they ignored the request made by the party hosts. I'm not sure the request was fair, but ignoring a warning given by the hosts is grounds for a boot.

I talked to one of the AoW's about it. He appeared to believe that they were RPing properly, as well, and weren't going to back down to the hosts. I, then, got my big nose out of it. There was still too much emotion.

(Not entirely sure what happened, but I know they did ignore the requests to be respectful.

I was watching a bit and wasn't entirely sure if they were rping at the time, now I know differently. They ICly insulted some people, and I there was no oocly saying that they where just rping.

Not all of Lekku RP, nor do some of our guests and we've had our share of non-rping a-holes. The ones that do RP in Lekku, only me and Acherner visit here. We are trying as a PA to RP more though and mistakes will be made.

I'll gladly sit down and talk oocly to AoW and my PA.

I will say this, if you insult someone IC at a party that you are a guest too, like Viceroy said yeah kick his butt. :P Of course if we did that then we would be breaking our rules. So I guess a temp ban from the cantina would be best.

I'm babbling sorry

( i gotta really learn to proof-read and edit my post better :P)

New Kala'uun is a neutral city. Our guild has just as many imperials as rebels. I am unsure of the details about what happened, who was banned, etc... and I will find out more. What I need is the people who felt they were unfairly treated to please send me an email (in game) when you have a chance with the details on what had happened.

In the game, honest, mature roleplaying really should never get you banned for any reason. Even if you are an imp trying to push your ideals. I actually like to see that more since this is really what is going on in the galaxy. It's entertaining to watch and fun to get involved.

Just as a guide...when roleplaying a character who can be somewhat controversial...please send a tell out of character to the person who may get upset by how you roleplay. For example, I came across a group of people slashing their lightsabers around and I just shook my head at them. A few of them were upset and wanted to know what my problem was. So I told them....when they heard my opinions concerning people 'thinking' they are 'jedi' but not acting like one....they didn't like that and took it personally. This could have gotten worse but a simple 'tell' by me to each of them cooled everything down and it was no problem.

Overall, please respect the requests of anyone who hosts an event. I would be a poor host if I banned anyone who did not do what I said, therefore it should be a rarity that anyone gets banned. I personally, after talking with them, would only ban someone for acting rude towards women, or purposely attempted to ruin everyone's time at the event. I hope this helps.

not to sound so anti-chivalous but just curious...why only if rude towards women? equal rights, right? hehe

No, if anyone is being OOC insulting and disruptive, by all means kick em, but as is often the case with rping a bad guy or just the imps in general, people take our insults as OOC. People tend to think RP is supposed to be all hunky-dory (sp?), one of my biggest complaints about S&V is it feels just as friendly and happy as any other event. I don't feel intimidated by anyone in there, when that cirme family started up i had high hopes...let's just say that didn't pan out. But RPing the bully is ahrd when there's no real fear...too many people know there's nothing i can do if they don't /duel and even then its only a minute before they clone and are back...its takes a good rper to pull off a good villain..but it takes an equally good rper to realistically react to the villains. I wish i could have a credit for every time a rebel has stood up, in my face, yelled "DOWN WITH THE EMPIRE" without any worries. I mean...

I'd like to share something from back when I was rebel....

I spoke in code. I would be conveying important rebel messages RIGHT under imperial noses.

Some sample codewords we used were:

White Paralope (stormtroopers)
Silver Kaaduu (at-sts)
"good hunting holes" were places we dropped supplies to rebels (i used to dliver mines to RD, a large rebel guild who weren't so much RP but allowed us to rp with them in these situations, was fun)

It seems too many rebel are very uncreative or too lazy to use their creativity....boy did this get offtopic....my bad

anyway, AoW is on the verge of saying "forget it" about rping at any event other than roba (because they know i don't allow the imp bashing) so please let's not turn away a guild trying to enter the rp community. Sounds like it was a just a big mixup, that's good, let's try to mend it.

just try to keep in mind....if 2 health inspectors are dining in your restaurant, and maybe get a little obnoxious....you'd probably give em some leadway right? Well now these are imp colonels in a dictator evil government...a little more serious situation...

If i was rebel, and wanted to calm down an imperial altercation while remaining IC...i would intervene and say things like "I'm so sorry officers he's drunk, his wife left him this past week." or "He's just in shock still please have mercy, his only child was accidently killed when an imperial at-st malfunctioned and crushed him, he is just blind with heartache, please try to udnerstand"

Something like that....not "hey, you two colonels better stop it or security will escort you out"
Viceroy Odantis
