General Ranged Accuracy or Melee/Ranged Def?

Which stats would be better to have: general ranged accuracy or melee and ranged defenses?

I would take the defenses. But then again I have always been of the opinion that accuracy points come in abundance for most templates and aren't that critical. Some have argured with me on it and they may be right. As someone that is pretty maxed out in accuracy (a full +50 between gen melee acc and dbl LS acc and the gen melee acc tree) I must say that it makes a big difference. I haven't done too much testing with numbers, but from what I can see, accuracy can directly affect your actual damage numbers. True.
