Amen to that.

I also had the joy of doing Bounty hunter before there were vehicles. Now THAT was fun.

I estimate it took me 80-100 hours to do the investigation branch. :(

Please excuse the F-BOMB... that was a result of my frustration at missing the shuttle by 1 second a few dozen times.

I was late for my photo shoot last night because I logged off on Rori and then missed 2 shuttles by about 10 seconds each!!

No I really meant that, usually people just go ahead and say it. :)

Yeah I have missed the shuttle so many times it rediculous.

I used that shuttle just NE of Nym's last night for the first time because I was about to buy my ticket to Lost from Nym's and heard the damn shuttle leave.

It was nice, since the 5 minute wait time meant that right as I got there the shuttle showed up. But poor guys, no one's going to come use their shuttle now that the spaceports are on a 5 minute cycle.

I didn't mind the 10 minute cycle for Starports at all. For game reasons and personal ones.

I think that the overall pace of the game is too fast as it is. The fact that you can purchase your tickets regardless of whether you're in a Starport or Shuttleport and board the shuttle from anywhere inside the building itself makes it smooth enough, in my opinion.

Ten minutes in the Starport also supports the idea that "Hey, I am going into hyperspace, travelling thousands of lightyears". It's gonna take a bit longer.

And personally the waiting time is a great opportunity to play my role and have others play back. Then there's the in-game correspondence that I usually save for Starport waits. Most of the people that I converse with "long distance" for more than a few seconds, I was usually doing it from a Starport.

The Starports are another of what I call "mysterious indicators of SWG". There are more seats in Starports than Madison Square Garden! Why? It's like the ancient Pyramids or something :D I think that someone somewhen, in the initial development of the game, wanted players to have the ability to sit and chill inside the Starport, interact with other players and use the /bo trans command to hop out right there from the lobbies.

As in real life, there are several gates at airports and train stations. Instead we've always got a player mob humping the Ticket Colector ??*shrug*

Well, no one's forcing me to do this either. I can still play the smuggler chilling in the lounge staying low profile.

Who knows, maybe it's just my "Hmmm Detector" working overtime.

The basic info is here:

With supporting macro aliases here:

Now you too can go POOF! from the Starport lobby!
Just listen for the shuttle to land and type /bo trans.

Keer used this tactic alot when he was staying low profile from the Bounty Hunter Goons -err- Guild.

Let me say WOOHOO!! First a goodie for waiting times and second I'll have to check out these disease and poison resistance buffs as a Master Doctor now... hmmm. Don't even know the economics for making/buying/selling them to guess what I should charge. But I must jump into that!

Hey about the /bo trans command -- I wasn't able to do it from inside the starport building. "There is no shuttle nearby" was all I saw. Are you actaully able to do it from inside the lounge?

Does the 5 minute difference really add that much immersion for you? :) You don't HAVE to board the first transport. You could always wait for the 2nd one. :)

Why not calculate the relative distance between planets and assign yourself an appropriate wait time? :)

Ahhh, the age old gaming question... where to set the level of abstraction.
