Thinking On the Fly About PvP

You walk into the murky cantina. The faint smell of spice lingers in the air as u survay the patrons. You know this one's a tough croud just by the look of them
How in game terms could this happen? When you walk into any given cantina how do you know that certain players are tougher than the average player? Who do you give room to and who in there doesn't deserve your notice?
Before I left the game I realized CR's of 80 where fairly common. So how can you tell a dangerous player from someone who is just a very capable fighter? I was just lookin around the SOE boards and an idea dawned on me.
Every x PvP kills grants you a +1 to your CR. All this does is raise the viewed CR when your targeted by another player. It gives no bonuses to combat but it can leave the impression on other players the your one tough brave. On the flip side if you lose y PvP battles you get a -1 to your CR. The RP potential of this could be increadible and it could spure player interactions. Imagin some little punk kid walks in and sees your a CR of 102 and desides he wants to start a bar brawl with you or desides he wants to hear how you got so tough.
This is something I just thought up so what do you guys think good idea, bad idea?
