BTW, the title fo the thread is a joke. But at the same time its downright sad how this kid died. I mean seriously, I keep seeing these articles from eastern Asia about people dying from exhaustion, killing each other or dying from neglect now due to online gaming.

Its no wonder China is forcing Blizzard to put 3 hour/day cap on gaming.

They were wrong the second they walked out the door. The planned to leave their infant alone for an hour.. that right there is a apalling.

If you are THAT hooked on a game.. don't have kids in the first place. You should not have children unless you are prepared to make them your number one priority.

Well folks stupidity rulles the day and level minded people like us are a rare species these days. How the hell does the parents know he was trying to re-enact an scene from WOW? Maybee he just couldn't put up with the embaracment of having parents stupid as them. Here's one more nail in responcibilities coffin. No one is responcible for their own actions so I think I'll go rob a bank get a ticket to where ever that lawyer lives and beat the day light out of him. This particular form of "entertainment" is still in the baby stages of development. Remember the Holodeck from Star Trek? Sure, it will be used for education and training, but the "Virtual Living Addiction" aspect will be weeding out people who cannot break away from it to actually live...either thru actual death or failure to reproduce.

This is the true opiate of the masses. If you can't be uber at somethng in real life, you can still be uber at something in virtual life.

This stupid reaction can be used for anything. I can see some idiot parent saying the following.

the kid was 13... If a kid can play the game, he should know that the game engine gravity and falling damaged are slightly different from real life.

I remember in DAOC we used to purposely commit suicide in keeps by jumping from the top, so we could get back to our bind location. So if I jump to my death from a building, is that a reinactment?
