But this is just for those of you who have a toon on bria.
The idiots name is cepoba and scammed me for 1.7mil and have also humiliated me and insulted me, i did a /report but it didnt work somehow, soe refuses to do jack about this, i sent in 3 tickets, they wont take my screenshots of groupchat as evidence.
I was gonna buy a barc from the jerk, i went to nym to get 3.6mil creds and came back to the starport where i saw him and traded with him, he said he couldnt drop the vehiacle in the window, i thought it was maybe possible since the barc is a little special, he said "but i can transfer it to you if you tip me half, 1.7mil" i thought hmm weird, but ive been gone for 2 months and i thought that it was maybe a new feature, so i traded him the cash, after that the ass sat up on the vehiacle and said "there is one born every minute" and took off.
As if that wasnt enoug he said the day after ok ill repay you come to dathomir science outpost, so i did and waited for like 30-40min, i asked when are u comming, are u comming or what? "of cource not, dumbass rofl" he said.
i was so fricken mad i almost deleted my account
Warning for scamming player
Unfortunately I don't think this kind of scamming is really catchable or punishable by SOE. But it sure isn't nice. Sorry you got duped.
Maybe we could turn this into a helpful suggestion of how to try and make sure we have safe transactions in game? We've probably all been duped at one time or another by beggars, scammers, or people who just aren't nice.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but are not the only things that can not be traded in game the jedi lightsaber and padawan robes? That is more than enough information to post. Now, this doesn't cover the fact that you can get ripped off by buying already tuned or bio-linked equipment if you don't check it first. But, if it smells fishy; It probably is. That is the general rule of thumb to go by with situations like this.
There are a number of reasons why this is not going to be punished as opposed to credit dupping as well. It's because they way the game opporates you 'can' set yourself up to be an in game swindler, lying s.o.b., and all around cheat and/or beggar!
Nonetheless; perhaps a quick guide to avoiding scams may be called for here.

Is Burbo really a scammer? Supreme Begger yes but I don't know if he's scamming anyone. I'm just wondering if anyone knows something I don't.Skorixor wrote:yeah how many scammers have we had on gorath

Burbo is nothing short of the galaxy's most well-known celebrity.
I wonder if more people recognize the name "Burbo" than do "Palpatine"

Depends on what you consider a scammer. I know that in philly when you leave the symphony there are a bunch of beggars outside waiting for everyone. (because if you go to the symphony you oviously have money to piss away?) Anyway... If you watch them close enough when the crowds leave many of them hop in their brand new cars and drive off.Seret Sajet wrote:Is Burbo really a scammer? NOW! If they are not scammers in your book, neither is burbo.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to you Chaar. If it was me, some screen shots on the Bria trade forum would be in order.
As far as other cheats,
There was a post on the gorath forums about AKADeath and his grab bags. He was selling them with a chance that there were some rare loot and crystals for millions a bag.
When gorath was copied over to test center, some players went to his vendors and bought all of his grab bags to see what was inside... everything was junk.
FYI
/report scans the last couple 100 lines of chat and if it finds the person's name, it will allow you to report them and copy your chat log. If it can't find their name, it will prevent it from working and you have to report in the help section as a harrasment.
I would advise not doing trades like this in places with alot of chat spam unless you know the player. Claim that place lags you real bad and suggest some empty city. If they insist or If someone suggests a normally quite place and there is a spammer, /addignore the spammer(s) before the trade.

I don't have a lot of l33t equipment because I refuse to buy from anything but a vendor or someone in this community. I still have managed to pickup some stuff off vendors. You just have to look harder. I don't know if Bria has a community like this or not.
It sucks that you got screwed over but given SOE's strict reporting guidelines it is tough to catch these people.

Truth in advertising not withstanding, Burbo is delivering what he is promising and that is nothing. Also, people who know he has loads of credits sometimes still tip him because they find him amusing.Skorixor wrote:what ebo said

Well, the trade window lets you see the products and the credits. I never really had a problem with someone not willing to pay when I was slicing weapons and armor in Coronet. Of course, it was in their best intrest to pay me when I was holding their stuff. It was my best intrest to give it back if I wanted to keep slicing in Coronet.E-bo Obi wrote:I don't have a lot of l33t equipment because I refuse to buy from anything but a vendor or someone in this community. That's why I think a PSA in the Bria trade and galaxy forums is needed. Don't let this person get away with it without being held responsible. Help prevent others from falling for the same and maybe find support from others who have. I would avoid any inflamartory remarks and I would write it up kinda like a police report.

There are LOTS of items you can't trade. Yacht deeds, all of the n00b items you're given through the Trehla quests, quest items (i.e. the skull from the master hunter quest, and the antidote for the great tree on Kash, etc).Sai'nu wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong here but are not the only things that can not be traded in game the jedi lightsaber and padawan robes? Just use your noodle, and don't give up ANY dinero if you don't get something in return. If you don't trust someone not to cheat you, don't make the trade, even if there's a shot you'll make a big profit. You choose whether to take a chance on someone.

Yes well the point I think is that there are a lot of items that aren't tradable not just Jedi items. So having a list of the exceptions may not be the way to go, but to just assume if they can't put it in the window and want to work something out then it's probably a bad deal.Skorixor wrote:i've bought several master hunter trophys off vendors thoIagoBoom wrote: quest items (i.e. the skull from the master hunter quest, and the antidote for the great tree on Kash, etc).
