I play most of my time on bria, i have got lotsa friends there since my old guild merged with another, problem is i havent found any roleplaying communities there so im trying to make one. First im gonna start on a website with a forum (does this kind of forum cost, or is it free? its very nice! ive also tried to gather a staff to plan the first event. The roleplaying events i hope for will be more exciting and with a little more action, nothing wrong with cantina partys but nto much happening on the ones ive been on.
I could need some hints n help and ideas how to get this to work, ive announced this on bria forum (which directly got spammed by morons who dont like mmorpg.
Im gonna get a free domain at geocities and put up a forum there so if this kind of forum aint free (or easy to put in and maintain lol) please recomend one.
Well, time to start on the graphcis and signing up for the free website.
rp-community for bria, need some hints n such
When I was on Bria over a year ago, there were some RPers playing in the cantinas. As I was grnding dancer, I had time to notice them.

1) Observe. Seek out roleplayers on the server and talk to them. Ask them what rolplayers them know. Talk to them, see who they roleplay with. Your goal is to obtain an awareness of all the RP groups and individuals that you can. Find out who the "leaders" are. Network. Go to RP events.
2) Analyze. Look at your picture of the Bria RP community and try to identify what is needed to make it better. The answer will likely be "communication". What better for communication than a Forum! Communication is what makes community possible.
3) Sell it! You may need to convince people that getting all the roleplayers in one place is a good thing. You are selling the idea that a forum is a great way to coordinate, facilitate, and enhance peoples RP experiences.
Obtain critical mass. If you can get enough good people on your Forum, the forum will then begin to grow on it's own as people start to invite their friends. Why is Tales a great place? The people who post here make it as such. Why do they come here? Becuase there are people posting here.
4) Maintain the magic. A community is a wonderful thing. It belongs to no one, and everyone at the same time. Always look at how you can do your part to make it better. Stay focused on fun. Fun is what draws people. Encourage participation and creativity.

Well, if Zannon or Seret don't catch this... I believe this is a paid for site. Now, I believe one of my WoW guilds uses a 'free' service like geocities for it's forum.
Generally, it won't look as spiffy as this one does. However, If you'll follow Ekade's advice; I think you could build a community, or find one, on Bria much like this one's.
I'm not entirely sure.... but I think Bria is where a character builder program came from that was 'on' an RPer community forum. So, it may be that you just haven't found them yet. And, not to worry, I think you put this in the right spot. This does deal with the game; And I don't think any of us have a problem with lending ideas to other server's communities.

I actually believe it's a bloodfin site not bria. But I'm sure Bria probably has a similar site somewhere.Sai'nu wrote:Well, if Zannon or Seret don't catch this... I believe this is a paid for site. Now, I believe one of my WoW guilds uses a 'free' service like geocities for it's forum.

Checkout myfreeforum.org - I went there and made a forum for my alt to coordinate Imperial events and stuff. The forum isnt bad and should suffice for what you are looking to do.
