Once again I am back with a few more answers to your questions about our upcoming expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan.

Let's get started...

What reason will there be for Combat Level 1 characters to get the expansion?

With this expansion we are offering a variety of content and adventures that will interest players of all different professions. For crafters there will be new crafting schematics, as well as new resources available that can only be found on the planet of Mustafar. Dancers, entertainers, and musicians will certainly be interested in the new dance, dance props, and song that you can get there. And anyone with a ground vehicle will benefit from the three additional vehicle slots available in the datapad as a bonus with purchase of the expansion. The broad range of new features, creatures and resources included in this expansion along with the pre-order rewards, the purchase rewards (which we have yet to announce), and some other currently unannounced content all add up to a powerful new episode for our game. I think you will find that there are lots of reasons non-combatants will be interested in this new expansion.

Is there any news on new ships coming out with the new expansion?

There will be a new starship available in the expansion. Though I can't announce what ship it is yet, I can say that you will be able to enjoy traveling around in it with your friends.

Will the lava flows be dangerous or can we walk on them undamaged?

Lava will be very dangerous to your health. Players will find that they will take damage and can certainly die if they wander into lava.

Do we get any neat prizes with the digital download?

Absolutely. Anyone who pre-orders the expansion will get the Transport Skiff, the first eight player ground vehicle in the game. Additionally, anyone who pre-orders will get the opportunity to start playing the expansion on October 25th, one week before the official launch of Star Wars Galaxies: Trials of Obi-Wan. We are planning to give more details on the Pre-Order Promotions in our Friday Feature next week.

Will we be seeing anymore screenshots soon?

Yes, in fact be sure to check out today's Friday Feature where you can find some new screenshots as well as some AIM icons and wallpapers which you can download.

Next week I expect to have even more exciting information to share about the expansion. Be sure to keep an eye on our website for more information.

As always, thanks for your time. I look forward to your feedback.

I'm still excited about the expansion. Anything new is always welcomed.

The problem being we already know, and can expect, there to be new and old bugs that come out with this... the possibility that the servers will be down (because of crashing) for a day after they put it live.

But, this isn't anything we haven't dealt with and gotten through before.

I like that there is content for everyone; but their mistake here was making the 'title' Jedi related I think. Obi-Wan's Trials will no doubt be fun for anyone that does them... but I think this will still leave players with a sense of... but I'm not a Jedi and shouldn't even be able to talk to this guy!?! Yes, no?

no, and that's why I think IMO that the expansion is lame and yet another way for the devs to cater to jedi...or a lame way to try and let us mere mortals be "involved" with jedi-like stuff...

either way it's lame...I'm never goingto be a jedi cuz I don't have time for the grind, so I'm not going to go see obi-wan either, because rp-wise he would never talk to my ass anyway, and any other jedi for that matter...he wasn't any of the pc's teachers...the only one that he taught was luke, and he wouldn't give a rat's ass about the rest...

The title was a mistake, I completely agree.
All players should feel the expansion is for them, which it is! New content for everyone.
In defense of jedi related content however, we don't have much else than grinding to do. I really, really miss a purpose for having dedicated my MAIN character to this. Playing alts is no fun, my main character has her own life, friendships etc. Thats where I want to be.

The possitive effects could even be less saber flashing in Theed.

As Jedi, I would love if they fixed our bugs, added some non-combat content and made attractive to wear anything but the silly pyjamas. That done, leave us be, plenty of other stuff to look at. Smuggler revamp for example has me incredibly excited on behalf of the Smugglers and because its adds to the game immersion for me, as non smuggler.
Propositions for dual wield weapon professions have me equally excited!
Crafters that get funky toys to play with, heck yeah! Benefits everyone.

I think the main problem is that they never completely fix professions or series of quests before they move on to something else. We are all, no matter profession, left with annoying bugs and then forgotten for a long period of time. Some more than others, granted.

I have the audacity to suggest the Jedi are most important right now *ducks incoming fruits and vegetables* only where bugs are concerned mind you (everyone deserve new content and upgrades), for the sole reason that we are the only ones losing xp and many hours worth of skilling as a result of bugged weapon speed and hopelessly weak weapons unless you own 100 million credits or had a lightsaber with good stats 6 months ago.

At least as roleplayer I can add my own imaginary content :D

To toss a little sand on the Jedi hate:

They picked this planet over Hoth or Bespin because it was the last salvagable bit of content from Episode 3. Notice how it comes out the day that Ep 3 comes to DVD?? Everyone assumes it's all about Jedi, when in reality it's all about cashing in on the brand.

I also think it's dumb for people that aren't even force sensitive can talk to Obi-Wan but it's understandable why the Devs have allowed all to take his quests. I mean, if they only allowed Jedi to do the quest, think of all the people complaining about Jedi getting access to restricted content that we'd see on the forums.

I'm merely pointing back at gain vs invested effort, risk vs reward. I'm not blaming you or anyone else here for this.
I love other professions, I enjoy new publishes for my friends and fellow gamers. Why must you hate mine? All classes also give me something, like a jedi can benefit your group. I can't understand the views of the "jedi haters" at all. I welcome you to post or PM your views, in a respectful manner as I believe I have.

Of course I could also say,
god damn you BHers, you are so full of yourselves,
Instead I chose to present my argument, knowing the majority of this forum are not jedi.

My opinion on Jedi. I don't like them. I don't think they should be in this timeline. If there was a way I could play this game and never see one I would be happier than a pig in shit. I personally feel that this game would have been great never having allowed Jedi in the first place. The amount of time and effort wasted on putting jedi in this game could have been used to fix other classes.

SOEs painted themselves into a corner. Well, I should say that SOE was painted into a corner by Lucas (see #1 below )

This is a game. The best and most fulfillng option would be to make Jedi equal to other players. SOE can't

#1 - Lucas won't let them
#2 - Gain vs Invested Effort - If they were equal, then likewise, the effort *should* be the same. My argument about fighting against stacked odds in a game is just as valid when used to argue Gain vs Invested Effort in a game. In the end the net result of Jedi being equal to other professions would result in just more Jedi.
