I don't think this has anything to do directly with SOE or Lucas Arts. I did the survey just the same; judging by the link though... could be research for Kotor 3.

Wild guess, they are making SWG2 and are trying to learn from their mistakes, having found that Old Republic era content SELL versus the Episode 4-6 content, now they are making an openended KOTOR style mmorpg where they can mess as much with the timeline as they want :D

On a side note, KOTOR as mmorpg WOULD ROCK MY WORLD :D

/agree

The questions were definately SWG related and nothing to do with KOTOR. I think this guess that it's research for SWG2 set in KOTOR era is probably right on the money. The only thing leading us KOTOR is the link though, so who knows.

I think that Episode 4-6 content would still sell...if they gave it more of a chance. Most of the add-ons in SWG since launch have been rebounds from the pre-quel backboards. Geo Lab, Rage of the Wookiees, most of the new spaceships in JtL all have prequel roots.

Dealing with continuity in this supposed time era of the game isn't a big problem. Let's see, the Alliance should be scouring the galaxy for a new main base right about now. How about some content addressing that? Missions on ground and in space about Rebels scouting out new potential bases and Imperials trying to ferret out that info. G C W...with the Neutral old Smugglers moving the goods to build such a base *shrug*

There's a rumor that a certain Sith Lord is hell bent on tracking down a certain Rebel farmboy. How about some content surrounding that? "Help Skywalker Stay on the Lam". The #1 Enemy of the State is subject to a galaxy wide manhunt while the content reflected scarcely trembles? Loot drop "Wanted Posters"? Is that all?

Same for Han Solo. Jabba's looking for him now. Missions to either help him stay underground or to expose him for a Hutt hit team. Sure, we know neither Luke nor Han get caught until later, but we also know how the Clone Wars turn out. So why not work with what the game started out to be?

There's plenty of opportunity for Episode 4-6 content.

I'm wondering how different a KOTOR MMO would be from what we already have. In both timelines you have two warring sides with crooks in the middle. The only difference would be more Jedi and Sith.

I do agree with you Keer, that there is plenty of content that can be created from Episode 4-6 and I would much rather have that, in swg as it looks today. Though I would love KOTOR timeline too, just not the mixing as most of us RPers work hard to find reasons IC to get around.
In the early days we had such content in the form of storylines with missions. Remember Dr.Vacca and Deadeye? It could have been made better but it was there! :D

Aye'... but they keep making the mistake of trying to tell us we're playing in the time period between Episodes 4-6; when we can't be really!

My last comment

Kenobi - "That boy is our last hope"
Yoda - "No, there is another"

in the SWG Universe the conversion continues after Luke's x-wing takes off

Yoda - "No. Much more, there are. Lieing to the boy I was. Make him feel important."

You've got a hint with my previous answers.

I don't know. It seems like its a rush to put out content only to rush to put out the fires caused by bugs and poor planning and design only to again to see the rush to put out another expansion and the cycle continues.

Honestly, Nothing that SOE has put out keeps me in the game. What keeps me in the game is the friends I've made and the content we make. What we find is we're constantly fighting the inconsistancies. Such as rebels control Mos Eisley ( or some other city) yet there are storm troopers still in the cantina ( Or imperial recuiters watching rebel commandos patrol the streets )

SWG is as patched and cut up as a person who strapped a live cat to themselves and jumped into a cold shower.

They don't really scratch and bite too much after the third or fourth time.

I put in name and sex and click the continue button and I get the cannot load page tried it 6 times. Anyone else having this prob?

Any how a KOTOR setting would be ok but I love the movies. Having that time line as the setting would be an admission of failure in my eyes on SOE. "We cannt control the Jedi, we cannt get the GCW right, and we have no idea how to provide any realavant content?" Quik make a sequel set in a time where we dont have to deal with these problems."

Sarcasm aside if they make a KOTOR MMO you think Lucas Arts would give the project to SOE or to the company that gave us KOTOR?

Well I like the idea of a SWG2 where it takes place in Kotor times mabey during the Mandalorian wars or the Jedi civil war that way we can eliminate empire and republic struggles and go into light vs dark or even Mandalorian Vs. Republic.

However the game would have just as many or more holes as SWG dose. So I think that before they get ahead of themselves they would need to master their first attempt of SWG. But there is no hard core data saying a SWG 2 would be made.

If this is happening and that there's a SWG2 in the making I have a feeling it isn't being done by SOE
