What kind of Temple Events would the Community like to see?

I think the Title says it all. You've seen us around saying, "May The Goddess protect you/smile upon you..."

Perhaps you've had the pleasure of delegating with some of us; or just shooting the breeze in or out of character....

But, just on an individual basis, what types of events would you like to see Temple do? What would make the RP of our Temple more immersive for you? Not saying we'll 'do' what you post; but I can gaurantee it will be looked at and taken into consideration and I'll even make a note to present this in an organized mannor to my guildies within the next few weeks. PM me if you have an idea you don't want to share here.

my "brother" has a good point, made me wonder too just now... How we're percieved and what people expect when they witness some of the Goddess roleplay. What would be really fun and immersive.

I enjoyed an impromptu discussion at the temple. I don't know if such a thing could be recreated in a schola format, but would like to see it tried.

Church every Sunday would be nice. Like in RL I would like Jabe to be absolved of his sins weekly so he can commit them all over again without major baggage. Only to get absolved of them all over again the following Sunday.

Short masses are preferred.

Joking aside, some sort of every once in awhile service, celebration, or blessing might be a good idea. I really enjoyed seeing the dedication ceremony as it was informative.

Perhaps look to ancient Greek and Roman religion for ideas for celebratory events and how to throw them out in style? They had some neat ones. The only thing I might suggest is that mimicking religious practices that are in use today too closely may make some uncomfortable. But I trust you guys to make it all good.

Maybe a harvest celebration, as we're coming up on fall/winter?

I was actually half serious. Some type of ceremony that came at a fixed interval would be nice.

Just as a disclaimer here... The Roleplay we reflect in Temple may borrow from different religions but we are in no way trying to mimic any one real religion here. Please keep in mind this is role play just for fun; we want a Star Warsy feel to it.

But, if we could set up say... at least two solid events a month... at least one weekend... one weekday (probably of CST evening)... this is what, the posters that have replied so far, would be interested in?

What if there were a ceremony for each of the Goddess' three faces? Each face - the Mother, the Teacher, and the Lover each honored in some symbolic way.

The Mother, of course being the creation and maternal aspect of the universe.

The Teacher being the guidance -- both understood and not understood for why things occur as they do.

The Lover being well, probably the most fun aspect but of course it really isn't just sex but also passion and love itself too.

And yes, I know most volunteers would be to participate in the Lover's aspect, but we could think of symbolism that could represent all three faces and have unique ceremonies for each.

This sounds great. Now, my question is... would the community like to have this be more on the 'Preacher' side of things. Aka... Kiva Ekade talking about these subjects. Or... as far as ceremony goes... What springs to mind when you think of these aspects?

For the 'church', celebration, and Impromtu discussion... What if we set a Temple Day aside... Not sure what we'll call it yet... But... like a Goddess Rest day... Perhaps on the weekend...

In this we could 'try' and have our Kiva, maybe just one weekend out of the month, appear to answer questions; The rest of us to teach; And generally discuss the ideals of The Goddess in an open celebration atmosphere. Would this meet all of these expectations and goals?
