Arifo is almost always speaking in ryl. She occasionally will switch to Lekku to speak with other Twi'leks. Some pick up on it, and some do not.
E-bo because of her former affiliation with the empire speaks in basic most of the time unless she is only around other Twi'leks.
I have noticed that there are a few others who always speak in their native tongues but not a lot. Is this something you would like to see more of? Personally I think it is great to see people speaking in their own tongue in different conversations throughout events such as the scum and villany night and in some of the more populated cantinas. It kinda gives me more of a feel of immersion because I can imagine all the different background noise made by the crowds.
What do you all think about it?
Who speaks in their native tongue?
I like it too. I speak in Ryl most of the time. I would say a player should speak according to their history. Perhaps a trandosian raised by humans prefers to speak basic.
Ekade was born and raised on Ryloth, so she speaks Ryl. Unless of course she runs into her favorite xenophobic Imperial Colonel.
When I switch to basic, I try to emote that I speak with a thick Rylothian accent.
Like you, I will switch to lekku when the situation warrants it. Most of the time I do notice what languages people are speaking.
FYI (for those who don't know):
/whisper>Arifo hiya!!
Arifo will see "hiya!!"
Everyone else will see "Ekade whispers to Arifo"

I really want to get into the habit of speaking with my Lekku with other Twileks. I like that no non-twilek can ever understand it.
I would like to get into the habit of using other languages more often. Hell, what did I learn 'em all for?

Zannon speaks basic most of the time because he's a businessman and has leared that that is the most widely understood and accepted language in the galaxy when it comes to doing business. When I speak to other Rodians, I usually speak Rodese...especially when that Rodian is Jorhel. In a business transaction, I like to switch to the native tongue of the person I'm dealing with (but I forget to do this a lot).
Trayuse speaks only Basic, but understands all languages (so, yes Dooo, I've always understood what you've said about him behind his back...but RPed that he played stupid).
Ahnk'ara speaks exclusively in Ryl.
Nutrinous only speaks the Zabrak language.

Jorhel prefers to speak in Rodese. He often swaps back and forth between that and basic. I'd keep him always in Rodese, but every time i log on it switches back to basic. My memory stinks, so i try to switich it back when i remember.

Gaaralow speeks Shiriwook all the time. He thinks anyone who doesn't is hopped up on goofballs.

I have RP reasons to speak basic all the time and so do my brothers. Otherwise I would always speak in my native tongue.

I wouldn't feel to secure speaking in your native tounge. Zaph learned almost every language while in the academy.ArifoObi wrote:Arifo is almost always speaking in ryl. She occasionally will switch to Lekku to speak with other Twi'leks. Some pick up on it, and some do not.
