I think that would be a lot like television advertising on the radio (which most networks still do, sigh), which I think is kinda their point.

No because I know when I'm in my car and I hear the radio say "Tonight on Fox, 24's most tense episode ever..." I'm going to be glad to have heard that if I forgot. That advertising would have hit it's mark.

Google not having TV commercials wouldn't be inherently against it's nature. It's just a rare road they decided to take.

"just google it" has been better word-of-mouth advertising than anything they could have paid for. Google has become the biggest and best source of information on just about anything. Screw the library system, Google has it beat hands down.

Yeah, got to give it to those guys at Google but they pretty much have a monopoly on the online information gig. Yahoo who?
