I am certain it would be the new supreme court nominee.

Have at it. If JustiSidious makes it on board watch out for new hooded robes being introduced. And yes, all politics aside, I'd like to see an experienced judge become a Justice.X'an Shin wrote:LOLKeer wrote:Ohhh! LOL Please JustiSidious, have mercy.
I normally am one to defend the "Right" when they're unduly bashed, but this chick has no business being a judge. ESPECIALLY for the Supreme Court. I typically think my SCJ's should have some prior experience on the bench.
Please, good sir, may we use this as her official nickname henceforth?
Dude, you should be all huggy kissy with this chick. The Dems are LOVING her as a nomination, because she's contributed funds to Dem fundraisers, and isn't a total neo-con hard core conservative.Skorixor wrote:gee, another one of Bushy's buddies from tx getting a job...
how'd that last buddy at FEMA work out???

Ha ha ha ha ha ha too funny my friend. You're about as middle as I am. Which is to say you (and I) are NOT.Skorixor wrote:it's not a left or right thing...
fact is I sit right near the middle
How is ONE appointment making them all shitty? You're throwing out the baby with the bathwater there. In fact, up untill Katrina, that "shitty" FEMA appointment had overseen 150 Presidentially declared disasters. Not to take sides here, but I'd hardly call 150-1 a shitty record.Skorixor wrote:I was making a point that his buddy picks from TX (or whereever) are shitty, whether they donate to dems or not
I'm friends with you, does that mean I don't know my shit?I rather have someone who knows their shit, than someone who's friends with a dumbass...

One thing I find unsettling is how after major disasters, there's always a whole lot of finger pointing and the news media flat out pisses me off. It's human nature, but I really dislike the need to blame public officials (national, municipal, defense or leadership, whatever) to the point of discrediting them. Sometimes, bad things just happen despite how well people do their jobs. Like category five hurricanes, terrorism, and other generally crappy, unhappy things...and it seems like after all big bad stuff lately, there's always a couple people that the media's trying to tear down as a scapegoat.
That's not to say I think people are always blameless; sometimes people are at fault. It's just that I get tired of the questions always being pressed towards, "Don't you feel that so-and-so could have done more?" when a lot of answers are, "Well, people should have done more to help themselves." But the media are always fishing for a story.
