Hey everyone,
I thought I would jump into one of these threads and try to shed some light on schematics and the cube. First of all, the cube does have a number of recipes that result in schematics, so those of you looking in this direction are correct. The schematics will be no-drop, sorry but players will need the Chu-Gon Dar cube in order to make the new schematics. The cube loot pieces that form these schematic recipes will be tradable. This means that, in most cases, it will be necessary to have a combat class to gather up the pieces in order to make the schematic...unless the crafter groups up with them and gains the benifit of their group's CL. So, in order to gain the new schematics, crafting classes will have to work with Combat Classes and in order to gain the items these schematic produce the Combat Classes will have to work with the crafters.
I hope that this answers many of your questions.
Thanks for all your feedback,

Im sorry to report..This
I don't think that is so bad. Combat Classes rely on Crafters to make their weapons, Crafters rely on Combat Classes to get them the material to make the weapons.
A tidy little circle.

Yeah. I'm not really seeing why it's bad that group play and teamwork is being encouraged.

Oh im sorry i forgot to mention that as it stands, the Only item to come from the Cubes is a Non-trade Schem for a reactor. And that No CL1 can get the cube since the quest is combat related on mustafar...
Sorry to correct you but the cube itself is not from a combat related quest. I made the quest as lvl1 entertainer and have the cube now. What is right is that the entertainers or crafters need the combat classes to get the stuff they need to put inside the cube, since all stuff drops from lvl80+ npcs, atleast they made the parts for schematics or props now tradeable.

If you consider the loot drops no different than Krayt Tissues or Geo Cubes, the situation will be very similar to what goes on now.

My problem is how much playable content does the expansion have for combat only classes versus how much content it has for those playing hybrid CL54's (me) or a CL1 crafter (my DE alt). I know they will never make an expansion weighted this way towards crafters and entertainers and against
combat classes but it seems like in this case they barely made an effort to appease those non CL80 characters.

Yup. I wouldn't have minded so much, had they just advertised this expansion as catering to combat professions. Yes, there are things for crafters, but it is a rough place and mostly only for adventurers.
However, whenever faced with the question "Is this new expansion for all players or only combat oriented players?", they always answered "All players". By all players, they mean there is one quest for a CL 1 to do. Hell, even cl54 are gonna have trouble here. It is like a pretty high-end combat planet.

Looks like they are at least listening to the backlashSpaceRancor wrote: Here is what is meant by most:
All loot drop and 95% of the quest rewards have been moved to bio-link or just tradeable. The few exceptions are the pre-order/retail rewards, the Chu-Gon Dar Cube, items from the Lair of the Crystal, and a few other "special" items found throughout ToOW. The cube loot pieces that were no-trade are being shifted to being tradeable...they will not be in this update, but will be in the next. Cube schematics will still be no-trade, although the parts that make them will be tradeable. Crafters who want these schematics will need to get a cube and collect the pieces in order to make them. Loot/Quest reward schmatics will be tradeable.
Note: Loot collected prior to this patch will still show up as No Trade, but any new loot gained will not.
Thank you for all your feedback.

Well if I remember correctly though I remember reading somthing from SOE saying quite out it is a high level expansion for experienced players. Though I could be wrong. Anyhow I have not done any of the quest's so it is all new to me. However I am dissapointed how quickly they put the expansion together. The graphics from what I have seen are put to shame compared to Kashyyyk. Though I am not doing the crafters part in things and am lvl 80 so my opinion is not as important.

ARE YOU HIGH?
I was absolutely blow away by the graphics on Mustafar...the textures on the walls and floors at the mining station the shuttle lands at have to be the most detailed they've had in the game so far. More than anything they've done since launch, that area feels and looks the most Star Warsy and rich.

Wish I could actually play the beta. I was accepted, but for some reason, it says I already have a character created, and can't creat anymore. But the thing is, I can't choose any characters in the select screen.

After the install, try playing it from the .exe file in the zip file that you downloaded for the beta. I had all kinds of issues and that was the only way I could get the beta to launch. Creating a shortcut didn't work at all for some reason.Oeree wrote:Wish I could actually play the beta.
