In all fairness I think there needs to be a pirate clause in the rules & regs post.

We have a fine moderation team and a good set of rules.

The rules are not a charter or constitution for these forums. The rules by nature, have loopholes. When these loopholes are exploited, the moderation and/or admin team steps in and follows a procedure that we have in place and is based on the severity of the situation.

If you read the rules, you will notice they are far from well defined. There is no legalese in there. There is a rule that says "post in good taste" and that happens most of the time. But we also don't supply a definition of "good taste" so the mod team interprets the intention of the rules and acts on it.

There are a total of four admins on the forum. None of which is employed by SWGTales.com nor works here full time. We are the only ones that can delete users. So we do it as soon as we see it. And yes, we do monitor new users.

So I don't know what else we can do. A lot of us post in good faith and use language that should be modded from time to time. If the thread is going well and no one is getting upset there are plenty of times where 'colorful' language just rolls on by without a second thought. In other words there is no black and white here.

And as its been stated before, this site is privately owned and operated. When it comes down to it, the top dawgs can step in and do whatever they want. However, as it stands the mod team is comprised mostly of people who have joined the site and earned the right to be a community leader, moderator, etc...
