You'd probably be best advised to stop downloading and wait til they fix it in an hour or two. That way you won't have to download portions of the publish twice.

I guess I should be glad I'm at work for the next 8 hours. Hopefully they'll have it fixed by then.

even with my cable connection it often takes me 30 minutes to download these patches, I hate that. Of course I have Charter, but I think I had the same problem with Comcast.

Holy crap. Ususally it takes me 10 minutes tops to DL stuff like patches, but this one's going to take like close to two hours.

Ugh... After several calls for a cable technician to come out, one finally told me that the lines around my neighborhood are old and damaged. I guess that could happen with the ocassional auto colliding into a pole along with storms.

Also, not being buried, tempature changes will cause my connection speed to degrade.

On cable?

Of course, it could be simply that the system is overloaded, but that wouldn't explain the complete loss of my connection at 2 am.

I tried to get DSL, I had it ordered. They sent me the modem. But they could never fix an issue with the lines and going back and forth for a year, I gave up.

Don't tell me that, I don't want to wait 2 hours for a download that will kill my night :(

Well I download patches in small parts so it is only ten mins on Charter cable for me.

Do you guys have BITS turned on?

If you are not philosophically opposed to it, I recommend turning it on. Will make patch day a lot quicker.

What exactly are BITS, and how do we turn them on?
