Skor's Question of the Week! (Lotto)

Okay fans and foes, the mean motherfucking lizard is back, and after some shitty 10 days away, I'm ready to slap ya with some more questions:

So ya just won the $340 million powerball? about a $140 million after taxes over 20 years...about $2mil and change a year

What's the first big purchase you make?
What's the first "ridiculous but I got big bucks and I'm buyin it even though I don't need it" purchase?
Anything for the friends and family?
Do you quit your job?

--Diversify my really crappy, really tiny little stock portfolio.
--Put money away into savings.
--Buy the really nice Master Replica Han's blaster.
--Have someone else wax my car.
--I dunno...maybe I'd try to go to graduate school somewhere I'd rather be going to university now.

Other than that, I don't think my plans would change much. Of course, the money would go to my head and I'd eat steak and Chinese food and drink a lot of good wine...and I might be inclined to do something crazy like go to school for art...or try and work as a novelist, or something like that, but otherwise I would wanna work because I'd go nutty otherwise.

I think I'd buy a house somewhere I wanted to live first thing for my big purchase.

For my ridiculous purchace I'd probably buy a complete set of the Original Transformers toys. Don't need them; that'd just be satisfying a childhood fantasy really.

For my guild.... I think I'd buy them all 'lifetime' paid accounts for swg. I'd get mom a car, my brother whatever he wanted, and my other friends the same. I honestly think I'd wind up buying a bunch of vehicles for most though; It's what they really want and need.

Don't have a job yet... but this would probably make sure I take even more time looking for one; and perhaps just do independent film my way.

Pay off my house/bills
Pay Skor to leave my mamma alone
No
Yes I'd quit and travel some, but then I'd go back to work opening a chain of cantinas. :)

First big purchase is a bigger house.
First ridiculous purchase Degree from Texas University
Though I don't need it I would purchase a new Ford Mustang GT '68
Friends and Family I'd mostly buy them car's. They all need new ones.
And hell yeah I'd quit my job. Day trader all the way.

Buying a house.

Probably fill in some major holes in my comic collection.

After reading an article in August's Maxim about how horrible the lives of big lotto winners tend to turn out, I'd seriously consider not telling the family.

Keep the job. Workin' in an arcade is just shy of stress free.

First off, the 140 after taxes is the lump sum, not the one divided over 20 years thingie.

Second off, the first thing I do is pay off my house, and then buy 52 100k Lamborghinis.

Every week, I televise myself totalling one of the Lambos in the most garish and extreme way possible. First, I drive one off of the skyway in Chicago ala the Blues Brothers, for instance. Maybe pull a xXx and parachute out of the back of it or something.

At the end of the year I sell the collectable DVD of all 52 wrecked Lambos.

The end.

In the first couple of years:

Set up college funds for all the nieces and nephews...and hopefully, the children to come.

Pay off all the houses in the family. (They can buy their own cars.)

Set up retirement funds for all family members.

Pay someone to finish painting all the Warhammer 40K armies...except the Kroots, which I love painting.

Chuck the job 2 weeks after the first check comes in. Get PADI certification for all in the family who want it.

In the following several years:

Buy a house in NZ, one in San Francisco and one somewhere in the Caribbean. Of course, would have to spend a year investigating all likely locations before deciding where. Don't need expensive houses, just places to hang our hats and store the suitcases. One would have to have a full fledged studio so I can paint stuff for all the houses...wouldn't have to worry about producing salable canvases.

Give this house to the neighbors who are an excellent couple.

Hire a chief cook and bottlewasher.

Set up a scholarship for promising artists/writers.

Go to all the places in Europe and the US that I haven't already been, and Octoberfest every year. Brush up on German, learn Welsh. Get back into mountain climbing.

Managing the money, the travel, the households...and staying incognito...would be a full time job. No possibility that there would be any time for freaking boredom. Once we have become acclimated, look around for other stuff to do. Attending some of the scientific conferences would be fun.

First off - that's like 7 mil a year, not 2. But I'd take the payout and invest it with my current company that nets me about 14%/yr.

All Xyryn's list pretty much but add:

1. a vintage Stuart Tank
2. a 240 mph vw beetle race car (Turbonium Green)
3. a vintage P-51 Mustang
4. A yacht/dive boat
5. A maseuse/secretary/girl friday
6. a Fund to help kids of vets get educated
7. a Ducatti 906 Paso like the one I had to sell (Ducs rule and Harleys suck)

1. Buy a new house.

2. Topless maids in those french outfits. 'nuff said.

3. I'd buy my parents a house.

4. I would become a philantropist.

Hey shoroliakan, I know a guy that has a stuart light tank.

Now for the unnabridged version of the Warsloth buying list...

I currently own and rent, which is sapping my pockets... I would pay off one, then sell it. Then get the frap outta this hole.

I would buy an abandoned hotel, or school building (I actually have my eye on a couple) then turn it into my own personal complex, but one section would have to look like a cutsie country home like my wife wants. The rest will be devoted to my "projects" and maybe an indoor paintball CQB arena.
I would have to shop around for tanks, even though I do like the Stuart, I would like to have a sherman or pershing. I would love to have a P51 like whatshisface, but I dont want to be known for dieing in a masterpiece of human engineering. (I would no doubt crash it trying to fly nap like a tank buster.)
my family... would pay off some stuff, fund some projects for them, stuff like that.

Since I'm too lazy to actually carry out most of what I mentioned above, I will probably build a castle-like house, and start traveling and visiting important people in part of a grand scheme I call "Whar's evil plan to save the world."
I would spend a ton of time in Mexico helping certain areas develop their economy. I would also try and do the same here, possibly with a related method. In Mexico I would also salary a few teachers off some investment profits. Certain people would be overseeing my investments to make sure I have enough to eat at Toro Loco every day, and finance my other endeavors. certain members of this board would be offered jobs.

some examples:
Batak, you could oversee some of my foreign projects, job includes guaranteed broadband, and living arrangments.

Iago, you can be my yesman

Kirt, you can be thug #1
Nyvveck, can be thug #2 (dont worry about the numbers both jobs will be varied and somewhat awesome.)

Dwilah, project head/overseer

Zan... you probably make too much to want to work for me.

Skor, you can pilot my personal A6 intruder. Just dont count on me to do anything aside from gawk out the window.

All employees get broadband and paid SWG, this includes worktime, except skor while flying. maybe jobs will include laptops with high speed wireless or something. I might hire Dooo to look into that. Thugs will be equipped with the finest in Heckler-Kotch weaponry, but will recieve no custom ranks from Jabe. Jabe can be Dwilah's personal secretary.
