From what I have read so far it sounds like the game is being turned upside down again. I dunno if I will like it or not. Its not something I am looking forward to as I am just starting to cope with my current situation and am trying to get my toon PvP capable with a limited amount of play time.

From the letter it sounds like:

1) Leveling up will be more like WoW. (Anyone ever try to convert a WoW friend to SWG? It does not work, SWG is yucky for new players. Most of us did not know any better at the time and actually enjoyed the experience.. but I digress.)

2) Combat will be a FPS I'm not happy with this. Then again, I was not happy about the CU either. Still, I am not a twitch-game player. There is a game for that, it is called SW: Battlegrounds, no?

I'm happy because I'm good at FPS. Hopefully it will still contain 3rd person view, as well as a new first person view enabling the weapon to show up for once.. Should be interesting to RP with this implant. (I'm actually looking forward to this.)

I'm all for lessening the grinding or make it more quest based. I think after two years the game is strong enough to try and change the treadmill. I think combat WAS broken, but aside from the occasional balance issue, the CU got all the major stuff.

Changing the game from customizable professions to a list of 7-8 classes isn't cool, nor is the FPS thing. I mean, I still need to play for myself, except that I already know I hate FPS games and I loved our current profession setup compared to something like WoW's locked in classes....so who knows

Personally, I like the sound of this a lot. The RPG part will still be in it, but it'll be more in line with what we see in the SW movies. My biggest gripe with the pre and post CU combat was that it was just too slow, I could watch TV while grinding and not have to worry too much about dying (and in some instances, I wasn't even looking at the screen). It's going to be different, but I think we'll be able to feel more immersion because more people will be doing things for the Empire and Rebellion, and, given the FPS aspect of it, you'll see more people wanting to PVP. We'll see, I had high hope for JtL too and it fell short.

Yeah, I am not sure. If it sucks, I will cancel. I can't believe I just bought the expansion and then they announce a sweeping change. That is bullshit.

What leaves the worst taste in my mouth is that this is like some big test before they put out their DC comics MMO.
