Probably get a better answer after this goes live or atleast people have logged onto TC and played it.

Well thats not really the point - the point is how many will their be when the population stabilizes, more or less?

If I had to guess this change could easily lob off half the current player base rather quickly. I mean the game is changing genres from what I can tell and you got leftovers of bitter reluctant players still hanging around from the first CU.

How many will flux back in depends on what kind of coverage this gets from gaming mags, etc. Will places like mmorpg.com re-review the game entirely now? Dunno. I don't think there were many new reviews after the first CU and I am not sure what to expect from this one.

I can see a whole new marketing push after the NGE finally stabalizes (in SOE terms) somewhat, just in time for Christmas....

Tougher pill to swallow this time. The first CU at least kept it in the same realm of the game we knew before. The professions were there. The style of combat was changed, but it was within the same accepted genre for the game. People turned off by the icons or particle effects came back as they slowly realized it was still the game they loved, just different in a few ways (I argue better, but that's pointless now)

This game.....is different. Fundamentally different. I think those that leave after the beta/live in two weeks, are going to another MMO that fits the style of game SWG once was.

If it is determined that they have put the nails in the coffin for us vets, we need to start a real campaign to make sure they cant get an influx of noobs, just to torture them. Something has to be done about the attrocities they have committed against us.

If I determine that the game is done for me, you better believe I will do everything in my power to make my gripes known to the world.

No real idea Oniss since people return quite often here too, and no one will have accurate numbers except SOE/LEC and they won;t divulge them.
I would say its safe to say they will lose more players in a short period of time then they ever have before. I plan to give it a go but I did cancel two of my accounts as the consolidation of classses leaves me less to be interested in from a character standpoint.

I am ganna wait to see if it is worth it and if it is I will stay but if it is just another dissapointment then I am out of here.

Here is my question. What will they do with full templates?

Will they just turn everyone back to level 1 or will they let you respec to the new skill set or whatever?

As I understand it... if your a Finished Template now... it'll work just like our last respec. You can switch over to an equally finished Template in the new system.

The only thing they didn't clarify yet is... they've added 10 more combat levels. So... if you respec as you are now to a Bounty Hunter in the new system at CL 80 now... you should retain that level upon respec. But no clarification if this means you'll be respecing to CL 90 under the new system.

Some things to consider. They say a charge on our token is used each time we respec (suggesting we can try the 9 classes and use the last one for our final decission). However, the way our Attributes work (their suggesting it's like Pre-CU where we could migrate stats)... then you could spend all of those respecs just getting your Bounty Hunter Template where you want it. Just as an example.

And I was just getting use to the nice fact I had equal stats.
