I'm testing out the Force Sensitive class since I figure I'll never be a Jedi in the current system. No, I'm not going to be a Jedi when NGE goes live.
Alright, TC6 is locked, and I'm obviously not gonna be able to play for a while. So here's my short little review.
The beginning: The 'Newbie Station' is very nicely done. Having Han and Chewie rescue players makes it very Star Warsish, and I love the part where you go up into the Falcon's turrets and blast some TIEs.
One problem with that, however... I want to play an Imperial. I don't blow up TIEs, and I most CERTAINLY don't fraternize with the likes of Han or Chewie. My crowd consists of Tarkin, Vader, and Sidious. Oh, and Nyvveck.
Solution: Let players choose their faction from the get go. Imperials get to start aboard an Imperial space station, and are given TIE Fighter bodysuits or a new Imperial Soldier uniform when they leave planetside.
Rebels get the NGE introduction.
Neutrals get the 'new player tutorial' that we've got in place now.
The Station: I like the way this station is done, and I absolutely LOVE the idea of being able to walk aboard the space stations in general. The environment is nice, and the quests are done well for being so short.
Why the station manager just lets people kill the animals in the Atrium, I don't know...
Planetside: Waiting planetside are many many many more quests, and a few different changes to the landscape than what we've got now.
Pickpocketing the Mayor of Mos Eisley is hilarious, I think.
I only go to the quest where I clear out the camp of thugs when TC6 went down.

Overall impression: Splendid.
I like the combat changes a lot. There are a few changes that need to be made such as larger target areas. When a mob moves into fighting position, sometimes my cursor will move off of them, making them harder to hit. Honestly, I think this delivers a bit more on the Star Wars experience they were talking about.
I'm still pissed about the 'No player bounties' thing. That, and the 'No class switching'. However, I think that this is a great idea to fix that problem.
As far as the roleplay possibilities are concerned, I don't believe they've changed. There's just as much room for RP in this system as there was before. There's just a few chat and interface things that need to be worked out first.
PS: Tells are broken.

Lol i just played on TC2 for like 5 hours. Had no problem getting passed the ramp, ran to it poof i loaded in. Station was cool but i didn't have alot of fun seeing it was a lagfest once i hit the planet. Combat feels clunky now, then again i was in heavy lag once i hit the planet so hopfully nexttime i go in it won't be so bad.
