Because of the bait-and-switch that sony did here They will loose well over half their player base on this game, they will tell friends and family not to get the game. And Sony is doing this to probaly screw over lucas arts.
Tell me your opinions on why it'll be so horrible conversion for some people.

The simple fact that so many proffesions are dissapearing is reason enought to get pissed off. I was a Master BH, Master Rifleman, and I had some pistolier now if I were to jump back into the game I'd be FORCED to be a carbon copy BH. And my primary profession, BH, is still in the game. I'm very sad for the CH, BE, Rangers, Brawlers, PM, Fencers, SM, TKA, Artisans, AS, WS, Tailors, Cooks, Doctors, RM, Pistoliers, Carbaniers, and any other proffesions I've forgoten to metion that is getting errased from the game.

?
I think they'll be fine with the new accounts/old accounts they keep. The only fine Their really going to get over this is any lost accounts they wind up with.
I truly believe that too.
*edit*
Their SOE; They don't wear pants!

Sorry man going from 25+ proffesions that you could chose and pick skills from to having only nine that you can be and there is no mixing and matching is NO A GOOD THING. I really despise them for doing that. I would have accepted all the other changes if they had left the proffesions alone.

Yes, theoretically you could pick and choose from 25+ different professions. In actuallity? There were about two. Master Melee/Master Melee/ Doctor 4-0-0-4, and Master BH/Master CM/Rifleman Skills. I'd say that about 60% of the game were those two. 30% were Jedi. That leaves about 10% that had somewhat unique professions.
I honestly don't think there will be that huge of a difference in the NGE. Sure, we only have 5 classes, and I'm upset about the lack of changing classes, and difference within the classes, but in the CU (And even worse, Pre-CU), look at it. If you were a melee class, there were many other melee classes out there that were EXACTLY the same as you. Ranged was the same way. So now, instead of them trying to trick us by saying, "You're unique!", they are simply saying that you are the exact same...which most people already were. Also, we can look at it by saying instead of having 32 professions where all but two are broken and worthless, we have (hopefully) five, well done, well balanced professions.

Nyvveck, you were playing with people who liked to fight. I play with people who like to socialize.
When I worked up to cl80, I was one of about 3 in my circle, and I considered the combat side of my template to be secondary. From my experience, about 50% of the people I play with were dancers, musicians, craftsmen, creature handlers and merchants. Another 20% were some combination with a healing profession.
That leaves only about 30% for pure fighting of any kind.
All of them are roleplayers...ranging from Kinda to Serious.
