I have to agree with the end of the article. I think it's all just b.s. and fake stories to drum up PR.

The problem lies with the "economy." I'm having a hard time understanding how 300k players can have an identical economy to the U.S. economy, which numbers 295,734,134 in population. That's a 1000x difference. It just doesn't make any sense. Their 1-1 ratio of dollar-credit thing isn't jiving in my book.

I play this game. Pretty fun, although I don't actually use money. You can play this game for free, but it's really hard to earn money from there, to buy equipment and such. And yes, they actually sold that station. It's a whole new zone that people will have to fly to to get there. Also, that's where th new newbies of the game will go when they first start out.

secondlife's economy is just about as inflated as SWG's. but not as bad. people charge what they want for theyre items. even market research is necissary. oeree drop me a PM ill give you a quick way to make a few hundred for fun money. personally i make at least 5k a week. my aim is 20 - 30k per week in "linden dollars" then i cash out and pay for my galaxies account and my sl account. at the same time. but im happy floating at the 13k linden mark i dont have to worry about cash that way. and i splurge all the time on my friends and loved ones.

the economy is real. just dont buy something without shopping around just like irl if it exists somebody's probably knocked it off and made a cheaper version. (except in my case. i make completely original stuff... well except for transformers. but those are fun)

I was going to try this out via a friend invite from Xyryn... but never got the email. I'm guessing it goes to your bulk mail folder... which I delete religiously.

I do ponder the validity of anyone making money off of an mmo though. Yet, I hear the stories from EverQuest, watched the old prices of Jedi in SWG, and hear things about games like these and just think... "How the heck do I get a piece of that?"
