The new skillset looks identical to a 250/250 skillpoint Entertainer/ID/Dancer/Musician of our current system.
The intro to the game is the same as for combatants and traders. The two quests I was able to do involved dancing for a guy....twice!...and dancing for some sick people...twice. Then off the station we go, or rely entirely on new friends.
My biggest issue is with the "Veteran players can now go to CL 90!"
WTH do Traders and Entertainers get for being vets? If there IS a step above what we're used to as Master Entertainers/Dancers/IDs/Musicians, it may not exist on TC, as of yet. I expect SOE feels that anyone that plays to be an entertainer will be happy that their profession didn't get CH'ed.
**I would like to stake my claim on the coinage of this new phrase. If someone beat me to it, I'll live**

That's all kinda moot now. From I'm told on the public boards everyone can be CL90 now. So yeah we've all been screwed.

So...what DO we get for sticking with this new game? Respecs?....I'll get some funky crystal and a robe....for my entertainer....
I'm just so disallussioned with SOE, right now. I'm just gonna curl up in the fetal position and wait for NGE.

SOE does not deliver compelling gameplay or perks for entertainers. I wish they would. They just don't.
And yeah, I have NGE paralysis too. I was once very excited about questing.. now I really don't even want to until I see what the new changes bring.

Ya I wondered about that to, if your a Lvl 90 Entertainer can you pick up like Level 88 weapons and use them, just not have any combat specials?

they could be like Dazzler and shoot sparklies at people, or make them dance to YMCA or something

Honestly nothing from what I've seen. We all have the ability to hit CL90, we all will have cookie cutter professions, we all will have 2 toons per server, and we all will be able to take our multi-million dollar adks and use them to erase the last 2 years....
The real hard part is that objectively I like a lot of what they are doing, but as a vet and someone who busted his rump to get his Jedi (unlocked the day before the last CU) I can't help but be angry. I did a write up in the NGE opinion thread so I won't go on a tangent here lol.

One of the rewards for Ehtertainers about halfway into the second teir/radial thingie is a "dance dagger". This looks like an actual weapon. I think SOE expects some entertainers to go out into the field.

Considering that maybe 90% of us entertainers do go out into the field, I should hope they would expect it. However, I'm not going up against any gurrcats with a knife.

By the way, they gave a percentage for players who were CH. Did they give a percentage for those who were entertainers? Bet they couldn't, 'cause so many of us are hybrid.

I believe each combat profession got it's own % calculation, while entertainer/dancer/id/music got lumped into one....so it beat out the small combat ones. The counts were based on characters using each profession, not the ones using ONLY that profession.

I was using a CDEF pistol. I suspect, that dancers can use any weapon they have the levels for and are not restriced by profession.
Sure, you won't get the specials, but that's just it, they are combat specials. A entertainer player's ability to hold down the mouse button and keep the cursor on the target is no different than a commando's ability.
What I forgot to check was the entertainer's stats. LOL, if entertainers get all their points dumped into agility ( the stat that reduces the damage a player takes ) they may make the perfect tanks LOL.

This is one of the things that's pissing me off.
A CL80 Combat character can respec to a maxed-out entertainer. If I respec Tasno (Master Musician/Master Entertainer), I get a CL21 combat character. If he was Master Dancer and Master ID as well, I'd get CL-single-digit.
The other thing that's pissing me off is that I *just* paid for another year of this crap. I thought I'd paid back in June, but apparently the billing wasn't until October.[/quote]
