Perceieved Profession Interest in NGE

I took a look at the total posts in the NGE profession forums and broke them down in to percentages assuming the number of posts was the perceived interest in each profession. Now thing could drastically change, but this is the breakdown so far:

Bounty Hunter: 7% (1824)
Commando: 4% (1010)
Entertainer: 3% (697)
Jedi: 57% (13723)
Medic: 2% (591)
Officer: 2% (571)
Smuggler: 7% (1642)
Spy: 4% (955)
Trader: 13% (3100)

Thought it would be interesting. And yes I know the percentages = 101%, rounding is a bitch.

Funny thing about that...i made a grand total of 5 different characters on the TC's in an effort to get passed the falcon bug. Which one actually made it?

Even though I had no intention of following through with it, I was curious if specific profs or species were bugged at that point. I hope it was just a fluke. But everyone I saw at the Tansarii station was definately in padawan robes.

I hope they don't just end up nixing every profession that gets 1 % of the player base. I want to see an artillery or orbital strike like no one's business.

Its not a poll. Its a derivative of how many posts are in each NGE profession forum at SOE.

Then it's really not very accurate as to what you will see in game. Look at the normal profession boards. Jedi has more than double any other profession there.

Conclusion? Jedi whine a lot. I laugh when I see that one of the biggest complaints on the SOE boards is that Jedi don't get a root.

Yeah I saw all those posts about roots and snares lol. If I didn't RP my toon into a Jedi, I would probably do soemthign else. I may end up playing my alt more now - probably as trader.

Regardless of post counts, I am positive we are going to see shit tons of jedi right off the bat. Whether or not we see huge numbers down the road is up in the air, but with litereally 4 out of 5 toons at the introductory station in TC being in Padawan robes, you can bet on it being jedi central for a few weeks/months before people realize it's nothing special..

I was laughing at the jedi because they were the only "melee" class that got a root in the old system. Us other melee'ers never had anything better than a snare (in fencer). Now, I don't want to seem overconfident, but I think I can safely say that arn't that many ranged guys around that can really give me a problem PvP-wise. Jedi are gonna have to adjust, me, I'll be right at home. (So yes, at this time, it does look like I'm joining the Jedi crowd as they are the only "pure" melee class).
