You may agree, you may not...but for me it brings up alot of points.

I agree for the most part. It really doesnt matter though. This game will either do really well as is or it will flop and be scrapped altogether, which is what would have happened anyway had they left it as it was....so either way we're fooked. ;)

Well I witnessed 16 account deletions that were backed up and even more saying I give you a month till I am gone. I can say this much that SOE is eaither going to have to close the servers down for good or make some big changes. I am only going to say that this game has one to many bugs and the new interface system is starting bug the crap out of me. I pwned many jedi but there is no fun in pwning when it is a system no one knows.

Honestly guys I am more happy about this on than the first CU. I haven't been this psyched about playing since I started in '03.

Granted, we need to see some adjustments made over the next few months. Overall, I like the speed of combat. I don't miss as much with my weapons. Combat is exciting again and not "routine" macro's.

It should be interesting seeing how this is going to envelop in the coming months.

Hey Novall, you did bring up alot of points, and I agree for the most part as well. Although I am not sure as massive as the the changes were that you can judge the new system fairly after on a few hours.

I am guilty of a knee jerk reaction last night....see my post on XP. I didn;t realize the payout of Quests now. Not that it makes everything better but least there is a way to get xp. Now will SOE keep up the quests to keep everyone in xp, that will be the trick. But to be honest, I would much much rather gain xp from doing quests, then killing thousands and thousands of Bols.

I was also worried about the weapons and combat. I nearly cried when I looked at my Proton Carbine, SO I used a rifle I had that converted to 800 Max. It work good and I was able to solo a lvl 82 Graul lair no problem. Then I decided to try my Proton...wow, the speed you can fire makes up for the damage easily. The combat is tricky now in areas with alot of baddies. I found my self hitting things I didn;t want to at times. But then its new, I need to adjust.

So, so far I am pretty happy with my Bounty Hunter and the changes, although I still hit the F keys from time to time or try and move and start firing on something. But once it settles in I think these things will be fine. I never have been about being leet or a super PvPer, I enjoy jedi hunts for the thrill of the hunt, I killed alot I died alot more, I had fun. So as long as I can find some people to quest with and have fun with I will be ok wih these changes.

Roleplay could be a concern, but I think in the long run it won't be so bad, I mean I saw people rp being a Bounty Hunter when they did not have a single box of BH, so I think all the creative minds will do fine continuing on their character development. Do the need to add more for rpers? Hell ya, but I dont think you are losing a ton for them, except for a few of the professions that will truely be gone(ie Creature Hadler).

So I am gonna stick it out, and keep on playin but then I am a SW geek, what else am I gonna play :)

If you read my post really really well, you'll see that a minority of my point was on game mechanics.

The problem now is that we as RPers are not part of the ingredients that make up game decisions.

RPers were the people who created MMO's, and thats where the root of the game lies.

But with the things lost do you think rping will be lost or mortally wounded, or will people adjust and adapt. Even before the NGE there was things the rpers want they didn't get, those things are the same now after the NGE, I am just not sure the lose of a few profession will complete hurt rp. We wont all be running around with the same outfit, equiped the same weapon.

Have you done any rp yet? Have you noticed something horrible different with how you will interact with others, except for the occasional stroke of the wrong key, learning the new system?

I dont think the NGE broke any rp of the game that wasn't already broken before.

I am not questioning your opinion, I have done very little rpin since I rerolled shortly before the first CU. I need to get back into it again, and I am trying, so really I am just asking, what has the NGE done to hurt rp really besides a few professions. I am a Bounty Hunter that leans heavily on carbs, for me its not changed much. I realize most crafters and entertainers can equip a weapon but dont have much in the way of skills with it, so yes that is different. But for the most part, alot of the template dabbling has been automaticaly done for us now.

Or am I missing your point again? :)

I'm really frustrated by the changes too...the bugs mentioned shouldn't be any surprise but the interface of the game has become so frustrating for me now. But it's been like an hour of playtime for me. I have to learn all new shortcut keys, I have to figure out how to do things like I did before. I have to find my waypoint monitor. I have to get used to hitting Enter before typing any chat text. I have to remember to use Numlock to keep moving forward. I have to laugh when healing someone puts me into a combat stance. I have to get used to having only one bar of shortcut commands. I have to figure out how to heal myself quickly and go back to a special attack command. I have to figure out if I'm able to use a blaster of any kind in the game. And tons more.

Maybe because I just came back, feeling dazed and confused in August after CU, it's like deja vu all over again to me. I have again lost the game I first enjoyed. Can I adapt and enjoy what this new one represents? Can SOE fix things quickly enough to give me hope? I don't know yet though I hope so.

I do find the "cookie cutter" characters disappointing but does that mean that our character roles for playing have really been taken away? I personally hope not, even if myself I've lost half of what my character was about being a teras kasi master. I can't /imagine/ what a CH must feel like picking one of these nine classes. But my motivation for role play still comes down to the same reason why CU didn't disgust me enough to make me leave -- you all.

I'm enjoying the system...
I'm a little worried about every elite class using the same skills.
variation doesn't exist... Except in what weapon you choose to use
Still. I'm on board... I like this system more than the last.

I'm hoping some of the jedi players actually learn how to use jedi.
I'm finding that alot of people are logging in... testing out the CU on one small thing and saying "This blows I quit."

RP? You mean beside the fact there hasn't been any as far as I have seen?

I might start getting drunk irl and hanging out in SWG cantinas just for +++drama factor.

Come feel sorry for the drunk girl ;) (that translates as take advantage of in case you don't speak man-speak) Then let's watch sparks fly!
